the last time I played ancients awakened was back before all the drama with the developers happened and CDmusic left. his music was an integral part of the mod to me, and for it to be pulled would drastically change the mod in a way that I didn't know if I'd be able to enjoy the mod anymore. I ended up just dropping it at that point. fast foward several years, I decide to go back and listen to the old AA soundtrack again. but I see a youtube comment mentioning a new verison of the AA mod, and this very song appears in my recommended. and this song alone has made me excited for the AA mod once again.

I may be late as hell for coming up with this, but this is a mere THEORY- What if the player is the villain? The lyrics of just this song specifically tie into the fact that once the mod is done and played through entirely, it is more than likely to end with a recent and start of a new playthrough “Far you have come just to rewind, question if your goal is worth all’s unwind” 7:18 TO ME, this just states how far the player has come from the very beginning of the game, vaguely detailing just how much it took to reach this point, whether it be in time or effort (mostly both). “Your folly will end bathed in blood…” 7:56 This line specifically is what caught my eye after reading some thing about the Broodmother. It’s chilling, only wanting to be with its unborn. What will the player do? Slaughter her, for whatever reason has yet to be stated other than progression in game. A folly is basically a foolish act (From what Google told me…) and just from THAT alone and the tiny bits about Brood, we’re basically on the genocide route. Kill everything, grow in power, beat the “final boss”, reset and repeat. “In the gaze of the engine of extinction” This one took me a moment- but my theory on this quote connects more to the second quote listed above. IZ, might not, actually be evil in the long run. It’s just sent as a possible last resort to end the player’s “folly”. The beginning void themes are somewhat calm, expressing an empty tone and almost as if asking “Why are you here? There is nothing for you, leave.” The player then goes on a bit of their little beginner spree, now starting to attract minor attention from the machines of the void. Delta drone, smashed, possibly a scouting drone. IDK. It’s destroyed, used to further boost the player’s power, and thus begins the timeskip to post ML (where Zero is presented to fight) Everything behind that point, DEAD. The entities of the void are now nervous of the player’s growing power, so they essentially begin to rally the forces, point in being of “March of the Void” having a more militaristic style. Zero’s theme, keeps mostly the same style. The word “guard” is mentioned in it’s lyrics, meaning Zero itself could be purposed for defending something- right? 0:00 Enter, Infinity Zero. The mechanical fortress, “Engine of Extinction”, inevitable wall in the player’s progress. The very reason for it’s dreadful theme’s doom impending highs ( 1:24 ), dreadful lows for a moment of silence to those previously lost… ( 5:10 ) Infinity Zero is NOT evil, and is merely the puppeted judge here to damn the player for their actions upon this world. It’s eye has seen what they are capable of, and damn well knows it too is inevitable to fate foretold… ( 7:18 ) But alas, instead of cursing the player, it merely questions their nature, more so as to why they do what they do? It foretells the obvious future ahead, before continuing its fight full power in hopes of delaying the inevitable- 8:15 9:46 The player has won, the fortress crumbles before them as their onslaught is reaching its end. 10:20 The void is silent once more as all whirs come to a stop, only the Echoes of the ever Infinite whisper into the mind of the player as they leave the void to continue their path… Whether this is true to the lore or not, just the idea of making the player a sudden villain for the whole plot is incredibly amazing, a great turn compared to vanilla or other mods where the player is actually the true hero of the game’s story.

This is probably the best theme in the AA ost history, I’m so glad I got to watch the premiere. Words don’t do this track justice. It should absolutely be in the main ost. There are, honestly- no words to the excitement I feel for this. Echoes of Infinity was the very thing that even got me into terraria in the first place. What’s it been? Over 4 years, 5 almost? I forgot to mention that the ending and beginning fit in so well together I lost track of what part I was on when 15 minutes of listening through I realized it looped. @@aquariumfish-i4h the mod or the boss? the mod has demo for 1.4 already out,it adds chaos biomes (just generation very W.I.P and finished reworked grips fight along with bunch of early game weapons and boss drops) the boss itself might take a very long while to add,infinity zero is basically endgame boss whose added as one of last,they would need to rework ALL of old aa before even being able to start thinking about him,and that's not counting new stuff and concepts that never got in like the lost sea.

if CDMusic's composition was "echoes of infinity", then this one should be "echoes of leading melody", cuz man oh man is it far from being in this track. For the majority of the track, the it just alternates between a few chords, or patterns too simple to be even a leitmotif. Individually they sound great, especially with those really well picked intruments. Its just lacking that lead, that imho makes Echoes so great. I don't mean to completely trashtalk this, just wanted to voice an opinion that differs from "omg this is best music of all time". Praise feeds the ego and encourages stagnation, so be careful!

I agree that the patterns are rather simple but they are meant to be a combination of the motifs used in my other void tracks and also future ones (ofc people wouldn't know the latter yet). The simplicity in the main IZ motif is supposed to represent the uncomplicated dread that is IZ. I tried to make the simple motif more complex with something I planned back when I was making March of the Void. I came up with the motif in a way that would make the main motif of March of the Void (or the Zero motif) the chord progression of the IZ motif, representing how Zero is essentially a part of IZ. I tried to use the main IZ motif as sparingly as I could to try and avoid too much repetition because the motif is just 3 chords. I tried adding variety by including stuff like the main void motif, the motif from Desolation (or the Fulgarian motif) and also the Oblivion motif and a bunch more stuff. Whether if the usage of motifs from many songs justifies the usage of a simpler main motif and chord progression is up for debate imo. Tho i do agree that EoI's leading melody is far more complex than Infinitum's. Also I don't mind different opinions at all. Thanks for the feedback.

Garcia readies her most powerful weapons from her arsenal and hundreds of thousands of portals opens up behind Garcia every single Touhou character comes out of their respective portal they begin to channel their energy into Garcia who was in her Universal form each character fades into Garcia as she began to glow bright a large explosion of energy emits from Garcia the dust settles revealing Garcia once more her eyes glow bright white and she begins to warp the world around her and infinity zero the weapon that she previously had changed to a sword that has every single weapon that she had fused into it the blade opens up and Garcia fired it at zero a powerful beam shot from the sword hitting zero causing some damage the blade closes and Garcia goes to strike zero and she sliced off some of its limbs and she goes for the final blow and cuts zero in half down the middle the terrarian that was there froze in place they fainted and Garcia noticed and took them back to their base when she enters everyone in there moved out of her way and she laid the terrarian down before pulling out a second sword and laying it right next to them Garcia opens up a portal and teleported back to her base and sat down looking at the sword that she used and she puts it behind her back and she heads off to the Hakurei Shrine with Reimu and Sakuya the other two terrarians came back just to see the third one passed out with a sword that looked like the one that Garcia used they found a node on top of the third terrarian the third one woke up they picked up the node it projected a holographic projection which reads "to whoever is reading this I have setup a challenge for the three of you mainly the third one I left you a gift btw and for the rest of you pass my gauntlet and you would be rewarded with the same sword and I made it challenging it requires the third one to be with you mainly because the sword might be a key as well at the end of the gauntlet I have stashed everything that I have for each of you even my newest weapon good luck. -Garcia"

Don't take this as an insult, but rather my opinion. Just as most of your tracks, this feels tasteless to me. Not like i can change what i feel about a soundtrack. Maybe it is because i don't hear it having any distinct motifs, and there aren't enough changes throughout the whole track. I'm not pushing you to change anything, and i'm aware this is not the primary ost of the mod. But like, i won't even remember this track after i'm done listening to it. Unlike many other terraria soundtracks, including those that were formerly AA ost. I'm still listening to them to this day, because they're just stuck in my head. Some of your soundtracks were decent, however those of a recent ones feel just like this to me. It also isn't because i'm just favoring the old ones simply because that's what i'm used to. I honestly hoped that a new soundtrack would be a better replacement, and that was entirely possible in my head. Well, there is still hope for the non Otherworld tracks. But if my opinion is unpleasant to hear, idk why do you have comments if you wouldn't want to hear people's honest thoughts. The intro with Infinity Zero appearing is the only thing i liked though.

I mean sure i like feedback and you disliking the song is perfectly fine, but i don't see how this doesn't have distinct motifs. This has motifs from at least 6 songs. So all of my void themes except Termination Protocol. I can give you exact timecodes too. I appreciate criticism since it helps me grow as a musician but this doesn't really crtitique an aspect since this literally has all the motifs from my void tracks. I guess the changes part could be valid but i still don't feel like there is any constructive criticism as you don't say what the change you would have hoped for is. Is the composition repetetive? Should there be more instrument variety? Also i don't know why you instantly take a defensive stance on this. No one has said anything about your views yet. That being said I obviously don't want people to go after you for your opinion.

I guess i was wrong then. It does have motifs. But it still feels tasteless to me. I also might've confused you with another composer. Is proVGM not the same person as you? I thought it was you. Well, then i might've not liked any of your tracks then, since they all sound like that. I'm not a composer, so i only had theories why it might be. @@Disorder2312 First of all, do not drag Prov into this. If you blame Prov for leaving AA feel free to never listen to any of my music again. The only reason he left was that people kept complaining about how his music was not like the previous OST. They kept pressuring him until he felt like his skills were inadequate due to people complaining about something he could not change. People were too stubborn to understand that every composer has a style. No one understood how much effort went into each theme only for people who knew nothing about composing and styles to "critique" it for having a different style. You must understand that the person who you are speaking to is not your designated content machine, but an actual person with their own set of goals, desires and insecurities. Prov is an incredibly talented musician who the loud minority of the AA community pushed away because he did not meet their nostalgia fueled expectations. Nobody gets to judge him for his decision to leave AA because no one aside from the devs know what he went through. Second of all, you and many people completely misunderstand what constructive criticism is. Saying something is terrible isn't constructive criticism, not even close. That always will be insulting to the artist no matter who you speak to. Don't blame the artist for getting offended. Constructive criticism is pointing out parts that could be improved and pointing out how they can be improved. I'll repeat this again, saying something is bad is never criticism. So the "critique" you provided is not critique at all. You keep saying that you will never come back to this. You can't expect artists to understand that. It is extremely insulting to the countless hours they spent composing and perfecting a song that you took only 15 minutes to listen. I'm saying this to anyone who might be reading this. Keep your negative views to yourself. They are not and never will be appropriate criticism. I personally don't mind that you don't like the theme at all. I do this because I love music and not because I seek validation. I am, of course, delighted by every person who points out how much they enjoyed one of my songs. I of course seek feedback so I can improve as a musician. But I do find your need to keep pointing out how much you disliked it rather insulting. Not because I am butthurt due one person disliking my song, but because I keep seeing this kind of approach by people like you hurting the motivation of composers such as Prov. I will say that I obviously don't want anyone coming after you for your opinions.

@@MaestroVGM That's too much text for me, for something i'm not that deeply invested in, perhaps you just wasted your time writing all of that, and on top of that i can just delete my original comment. And perhaps you just misunderstood me. I wanted to say nothing regarding the fact that they left AA, in fact, i even forgot about this. Although now i seem to have remembered... Yes, i blamed them for that. Well, don't want to discuss this again, bye.
