Release date October 14th...that means I'll be viewing this song here at least 75 more times. More likely quite more than that. Fuck yeah Anciients!

I have been awaiting this album for so long. The song crushes and all is right with the world as a result. Bring it on!

Is that the album I have been waiting from Opeth for the last 8 years?
@UponThisAltar8 жыл бұрын
More or less? But that being said Sorceress has the possibility of actually being good. Title track was a step in the right direction again at least.
@LurchyScott8 жыл бұрын
Although I enjoy the song, I agree. To see it's the album opener as well has me a bit concerned. It was the same feeling I got with Silence In The Snow by Trivium. I was okay with the song until I found out it was the album opener and it made me a bit...nervous. Needless to say my nervousness was correct and that album disappointed me tremendously. I hope Sorceress isn't the same. I enjoyed both Pale Communion and Heritage but Sorceress definitely is missing something.

don't see the comparison tbh. doesn't really sound like them at all, and with all do respect to this Canadian band, they're nowhere near as good

Opeth meets Rishloo?
@Neonmirrorblack7 жыл бұрын
More like Opeth x Mastodon with an extremely small nod to Tool.
@chronic_johnson_a.r.a.b7 жыл бұрын
Neonmirrorblack that's kind of what I mean by Rishloo. It's some of the wankier prog that Mastodon has done, fused with Tool. Although I think Anciients sounds way more wanky than Mastodon.
@Neonmirrorblack7 жыл бұрын
Dunno. I hear a whole lot of Leviathan and Crack the Skye (which was already Mastodon channeling Opeth) with growls that are *almost* as good as Akerfeldt in his prime. Plus the entire light/dark stylings that Opeth practically invented that many bands aped, but few did well. I only have the last two Rishloo albums, so maybe I don't have enough exposure to them or something, but I never really thought of them at all. The Tool influence is mostly the basslines in a few songs and some of the guitar riffs/distortion (especially Ibex Eye). Get this album if you don't have it yet. Easily one of the best of 2016.
