My grandma was the organist at a local Methodist chapel and played all these hymns on the organ in the chapel from memory after over 60 years as organist and missed out verses that were not popular with the congregation. She was quite a character but loved by all. I have enjoyed hearing the old hymns and many happy memories came flooding back even though I cried through it all. Many thanks for the memories brought back to

Rob - This is wonderful; the memories it brings back of my days in Boys Brigade. "I woke, arose, and followed Thee." The words to this stirring hymn are very meaningful. God bless you, Rob, in your ministry of music. I do believe that the Holy Spirit is guiding you. - Stefan

sound is fantastic from that location. The organ would have been originally voiced for the church ambience, and this position demonstrates that wonderfully. The sound near to the actual instrument is often far removed from that heard by the congregation.

Proper good Rob. It's a joy and privilege to still hear those wonderful gospel hymn's played by a wonderful organist. How can I explain? Listening to you , even though it seems old fashioned to some people is an absolute pleasure to listen to the old ones.which to me are best.. I'm so grateful to you for the influence you've given me to keep the lord and holy spirit inside me.( In the beginning was the word and the word was with God) You are an absolute pleasure and privilege to be able to listen to as a form of worship, having found the lord after many years astray. Excellent X Billy Bray from Cornwall has been a tremendous read as well as the Bible..... Billy Bray the Cornish Tin miner who got saved from alcoholism and built load's of chapel's in Cornwall." There's Power Power wonder working power in the precious blood of the lamb" Keep up the good work Rob . You are still a great comfort/inspiration.

Always fascinating of how these types of instruments work. How the workers of that organ was able to stuff all those pipes in a small space like that and how each individual pipe has their own note. The biggest organs I've seen are about the size of a small house and how they shake the ground just like this old school conocer is just crazy

Good tempo - the risk of playing this hymn too slowly is the congregation will loose air support and not sing strongly - I prefer the tempo brighter with this hymn if the congregation is familiar with it.

Today I was at an event with a modern worship band, and don't get me wrong the band was amazing, but they did play some traditional hymns and the way they played them just didn't work, especially the way they played this one, just didn't sound right, wrong speed and chords.
