Babylon seems like it would be really wild to play as/play on Shuffle mode because of how its civ ability works, right? Like the way they get techs for Eurekas already means sometime the AI has weirdly advanced stuff even just playing against it normally, but on shuffle it just seems almost nightmarish; you're desperately fishing for techs to find other techs to find the techs you actually WANT and they just leap like a full era ahead to score some premium stuff.
@visitinggoat669611 ай бұрын
Babylon can complete the tech from getting the boost regardless of where it is in the tech tree. So tech shuffle doesn't really do much for that civ.
@MunkeeMazik11 ай бұрын
@@visitinggoat6696That's the point. It gives Babylon an extra advantage because everyone else has to fumble around blindly to find the techs they want, but Babylon can always just pop the eureka regardless of where the tech is.
@bigfudge203111 ай бұрын
As long as you remember a majority of the eureka in the game then it is good, if you forget how to boost some techs or you can't do the boost and have to manually research them to progress, then it is difficult.
@notme82329 ай бұрын

There was a period of time when I mained Civ 5 and I got about 15-20 games in a row where I spawned absurdly close to an aggressive AI, settled a little too close and then got murked in a war, only to hold my tongue for a few score turns and then mount a counter attack and take over their whole empire. There's something so satisfying about slowly chipping away and then eventually reversing the tides until it starts to snowball and you just take their last few cities in as many turns

Hello @PotatoMcWhiskey, After watching this brilliant Domrey war, I've played a game like this one as well. It seems you don't really need to pick up the Expert Crew promotion on it, because the bombards which are upgraded from Domreys keep their ability to attack after move. I've noticed this in other unique units as well, for instance I remember delaying upgrading my Viking Longship into Caravels because I didn't want to lose the raid ability, however the Caravels kept their raid ability after the upgrade. I see your video was made 6 months ago, so there may have been an update about this in the meantime.

honestly it's much more enjoyable for me to watch a total destruction war in civ 6 than really anything else, like other victories are cool but just wiping the enemies slate clean right to their start is better. it would be cool if you did a game where you went for like a diplo victory but anyone who declares war on you get's razed and conquered

Random thought as you're mentioning the housing penalty system - I wonder if real life urban planning could benefit from using an abstracted system like what Civ provides. You represent things like housing and food as abstract numbers, focus on getting them into a good macro alignment, and then start doing fine-tuning on a micro level once the city has good macro balance.
@benjiboy13375 ай бұрын
The obvious downside is that if the micro is TOO out of proportion to the macro, you can end up letting people die in the short term, so a pure approach probably isn't viable. Having macro first be a guiding principle, though, might prove effective as long as there is a sufficient micro balance to sustain the people.

@masboss445611 ай бұрын
I understand the thrill of having Babylon beg you for peace every turn but you could also just set peace as not acceptable and he'll never ask again iirc. Also when a civ asks you about your pesky troops on their border you can just hit the Esc key to ignore them and you won't get any penalty for lying to them about merely passing by 😅
