He's overrated now because he's made all his money and doesn't care anymore, imo. He slapped a wah on his rig and you can't hear anything he does anymore because it's masked by that wah. He uses the wah so much that I refuse to ever play with one because it just annoys me to hear one now.

Utterly biased, but having grown up buying these records on release day, the originality, the vision, the breath of fresh air that ripped through us 80s thrash kids like a tornado (not of souls ;)), I have not felt in a band since. The soloing is so unique (and, as ever, amazing recreated by LC678), perfectly fit with Hetfield's riffs, sonically sometimes fighting against the riff, but the note choices and the widely-widdly, followed by an almost tear inducing melody line, proves that KH deserves his place in the pantheon on great guitar players. ...AJFA is the sound of a guitar player confident in their ability and not afraid to show it. Because some drunk hating on metal gave it to Jethro Tull who in everyone's opinion is not even close to sounding like hard rock. ACDC and Iggy Pop should've at least got it that night. I think this was the first time Hard Rock\Metal got it's own category at the grammies and the producers wanted to make a mockery of the genre and gave it to a guy who plays the skin flute. But that's fine Metallica has alot more now.

Kirk hammett was a little sloppy , playing live only , however I did see Metallica live a few yrs ago in Adelaide Australia, and I shit you not , it was the best Metallica concert I've ever seen , I mean it was my 1st time seeing them live , but I have watched Metallica live on videos and especially the big 4 blu ray recorded in Sophia Bulgaria, and Metallica came on after slayers faultless performance, it's as tho metallica on this occasion, they tried too hard to play heavy and much to fast and it sounded terrible, I don't see why Metallica have always tried to play thier songs faster , but the Metallica I saw , was played exactly at the right tempo and pace as all of those original albums the produced.

He cant give the guy any constructive criticism or feedback? Stop being such a fucking snowflake dude, we don't live in a fucking fairy tale land where everyone is always 100% positive and nice all the fucking time. Jesus dude. And then has to throw in the outdated, super lame sexist remark saying "just like a woman to complain about something" what were you doing with your comment? Fucking complaining, about someone elses comment, just like a woman supposedly. Should we blow fucking smoke up the guy's ass that made the video then?? Of course not. Everyone that has watched his videos know how well he can play; he is a PHENOMENAL player. But with that being said, it doesnt mean he cant get some criticism. And no, someome doesn't have to post a video of "them doing it better" to be allowed to make a criticism. I play guitar myself, and I know damn well how good this man is at guitar. But it doesnt change the fact that he made some pretty blatant mistakes in regards to his tempo and timing multiple times through out the video. It seems as if he did it in one straight take, which is incredible to begin with. I think he is even capable of playing these solos 75-100% better if he really wanted to. But seriously dude, Jesus. Get the fuck over yourself. Find a fucking hobby rather than sitting on KZbin and commenting dumb ass fucking bullshit.

He has also provided us with some of the all time great melodic solos with the intro solos in ‘One’ and ‘Fade to Black’ and the likes, which at sometime in all metal guitarists careers they learnt cause they bring you to your knees the first time you here them but, has also given us some genuine technical masterpieces too. Although James and Lars are credited with majority of the writing/arrangements of their songs everyone should be thankful Kirk Hammett has existed in MetallicA cause some of there anthems would not have the same substance without him.

You've just got yourself a new subscriber here. AJFA is my favorite album. Yes, I know, many people talk about the bass (yeah, it's a shame) and Metallica themselves while talking about the Black album say that AJFA was their way to brag about how brilliant their skills were but even bore fans during concerts with long songs. But that is exactly why I love AJFA, the complexity and length of their songs. I mean I like classical music and one of my favorite pieces is the Allegro Maestoso movement from Mozart's Sinfonia concertante for violin and viola K.364. With nice rhythmic and melodic parts but also with solos. This movement lasts 13min. And other pieces last 9, 10min. So I was used to listening to long pieces of music. They keep you entertained so well that 10min pass by in a second. Again, excellent job here, hats off.
