Kirks solos on this album were outstanding. Well phrased and very dynamic. Fuck haters.
@theextinctsurgeon3109 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Burton I think every album he has done has outstanding solos. Who doesn't like the unforgiven, the god that failed, master of puppets, orion, damage inc, leper messiah,disposable heroes, call of ktulu, creeping death, fade to black, fight fire with fire, ride the lightning, seek and destroy, whiplash, no remorse, motorbreath and ofc afja
@gabee39939 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Burton Kirk was being taught by Joe Satriani around this time. There's an article where Joe taught him right before metallica and then gave him some pointers around mid 80's. You can tell in his playing.
@jonathanburton79719 жыл бұрын
Actually kirk took one lesson from him, that's it.
@chirinea7 жыл бұрын
Satriani makes it sound as if it was more than one lesson: www.guitarworld.com/artist-news/joe-satriani-recalls-his-student-metallicas-kirk-hammett-he-was-very-eager-learn/30015

there were the odd error, but what's most frustrating is seeing this people commenting saying 'oh my god its so sloppy, he'll never get better if we don't tell him' I'm sure he doesn't play guitar as his day job and if he does he probs shouldn't be on KZbin. Does it matter if there's the odd mistake in a 1 take medley of some seriously tough solos, he's just playing metallica and enjoying himself and wants to express it with people. How about you all do and medley and see how you do? losers with nothing better to do unfortunately. Great job man you rock!

I've always thought Hammett was exceptionally sharp and precise and maintained that consistency live. As a Megadeth fan, Dave's recent guitar efforts make me cringe. The countdown to extinction live dvd is really hard to watch because of this. I go back to Blood In The Water, watching him rip through Washington Is Next and Kick The Chair like it's nothin... what happened D: Back to Kirk though, The Shortest Straw blew me away the first time I heard it, I remember my "you gotta be kidding me" reaction when he did his little falling down the stairs run. All of Kirks solos are just so HUGE and memorable, Ride the Lightning specifically is up there with The 4 Holy Wars solos and Walk With Me In Hell for me
@Mazdabater0710 жыл бұрын
Daves getting old, he's died once, fell asleep on his hand and was told he would never play again and he's still up there shredding. You can't really bag the guy.
@mattman112710 жыл бұрын
Mazdabater07 And after all of that happened The System Has Failed, United Abominations, and Endgame featured his best and most precise guitar solos. I get it people get old, but Dave's playing seems uninspired and downright lazy now. Not trying to bag on him, I'm a huge fan, it's just how it is =/
@HetfieldAuditore7 жыл бұрын
I don't think Kirk has done much in terms of composition or developing a memorable solo since the Black album. It might sound biased because I'm a Megadeth fan but I prefer Dave's recent work over Kirk's.
@AyedYoutube7 жыл бұрын
Perhaps because Load and Relod were wrote in such different style compared to their first 5, you have 2 guitars and bass not playing together, but dancing together with their own thing, solos often drowned by the whole song so you can't realy notice what Kirk is doing there
@AxellRosas367 жыл бұрын
HetfieldAuditore i agree man but The Day That Never Comes' solo is actually really good But yeah he hasn't made any memorable solos since the Black Album amd the new album just... I'm a huge Metallica fan but... His solos just ruined some songs for me (manUNkind, Here Comes Revenge, Halo on Fire etc.)
