Jessie: Lieutenant Spock (Star Trek) had a picture in his quarters of the "expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden". When he was asked "what is the significance of this picture" he answered: it is a reminder that all things end! So, what does this mean to you! It is a reminder to you that your career is coming to an end! You cant stop it. It will happen. Handle it with grace, or even with planning ahead of time. Joe is still running at 100 MPH with his career, and now you are "slowing down" in anticipation of ending your career. Everyone handles this tramatic event differently. You were probably the best thing that happened to Joe's career. I will miss both you, and Joe (when he retires). Live long and prosper!

Agree with you Joe. I like how easy white and red oak are to acquire around here but it takes so much longer to dry then almost everything else. Especially the red oak family. The white oak family dries a little faster. If I could only pick one species to get in it would be maple, it dries very quickly and can sell it much sooner. I haven’t even found a logger yet. So you are doing better then you think. Keep up the good work.

They say that when life gives you lemons,…you make lemonade, 😂. At least you’re getting quality logs. My first load of logs were just ok. Some were punky down the middle, while others were too much around the outside. There was enough good wood that I was able to get my business up and going. My log hauler was supposed to call so I could meet him to pick out the logs that I wanted for the second load. It never happened. Then I found another log hauler who delivered logs that appeared worse than the first load. Come to find out, both log haulers are from the same logging family. Needless to say,…I won’t be doing business with them anymore. They really put me in a bind, because I only sell value added firewood. It’s ok, because I’m now implementing Plan B.
