I actually have the big problem of my life as an avid reader, I read all genres so I decided to set a plan first then to work on it, i've started organizing my bookshelves as categories, it's so easy to find the book you want to read. For example, I put a shelf for Adults, adventures, Arts, and so on until I find my little library well organized. Try this and you will see a big difference. Beleive me.

I organize my Goodreads shelves with the tags. I shelf the books as want to read, read, currently reading, dnf, coffee table books. Then the tags are own, borrow, want to own, want to borrow. It helps me keep control of my impulse buying.
