Charlie great video,l like the way you get everyone to get on the trowel a chance to advance themselves. You have a lot of patience and that’s what you need to teach. I also like how you don’t try to hide any little mistakes, because they do happen and you have to know how it fix them. I keep looking at your mud and if the ratio’s of Portland to sand are what you want could it be(since you have had a heat wave) maybe the combination of the sand and mixer being in the sun and if you use a long black hose for water the first several minutes the water could really hot and could be causing the mud(muck) to set sooner, also the friction from the mixer could heat the mud up,you turn down the throttle on mixer but it will still out creamy and sticky also you could add a shovel of lime(if they allow it) which would retard the setting and make it sticky. I know you know all this shit,I’m just trying to help,I feel for you with that crappy mud.my Dad taught me that (“mortar consistently is everything”) he had different mixes for different jobs(I know because I mixed them all for him when I was learning) just trying to help,Geo from the states
