Great to see since my school is doing this play...now I understand how exactly one would really say Lombard's lines

I think Wargrave was the best one! EDIT: Blore had me hysterically laughing through the whole video.

I hate the ending of the play. The real ending is so much better. Oh well. I'm going to have fun playing one of the Rogers, whichever I get cast as.

Doing it with a local theatre company of mine- director made the fantastic choice to place the ‘real’, more grim ending on the end after the love ending, just to honour the original that seems to be loved so dearly

I am NOT humming the set. Turns out you can overdo red. And then the actress in red totally vanishes against the set.

The American ending is soooo much worse than the original one. In the original one Vera does kill Lombard, then hangs herself. Wargrave is the killer but shoots himself in the end.

This is the ending of the play version that Agatha Christie adapted herself actually. She wanted a happier end for the stage play unlike her original novel because staging it the same exact way was "not possible" back then...I agree, the book ending is much better.

You are indeed correct! Christie so says in her autobiography. The book ending was so radical and daring at the time-that when it came to the stage version, she changed the ending. It is very difficult to stage the book ending in a play. Most filmed versions also used the play ending. There are only two versions that used the book ending. One a Russian version, and the more recent version that aired on the Lifetime Network-which is the best version IMO.

Superb production. I recently saw a production at my local theatre here in Caterham and it was just awful, hammy acting and weak direction with everyone jumping up to say their lines - it was like playing whack-a-mole!. Some People left at half time!!!

there are actually 2 endings to this play and i prefer the bad ending as its truer to the novel plus the good ending is just naff and predictable

Why do none of these actors speak with a British accent and maintain their American tongue? The play takes place in 1939 on an isolated rock of an island off the Devon coast. And still yet, all the people are Americans! At least act for goodness sake!

I'm sorry, the Mr. Rogers and Armstrong are awful. Rogers needs to learn to project (there's no excuse in a theatre space that small), and Armstrong is absolutely unconvincing of an actor. Everyone else is at least fine, though I feel like they could have projected a little more.
