Breathtaking performance. If I closed my eyes, I'd have sworn hearing flute, saxophones, clarinets and english horns. Maybe even a bassoon. A skilled saxophonist can devellop such sonorities on his instrument... Very impressive. Thanks for sharing !

This is probably the best performance I've ever seen from saxophone players. This is proof the saxophone can be classical just as much as any other instrument.

I watch this video every day before I go to sleep. The way you guys play it is just so gorgeous. You guys really know how to work along one another. Keep up the good work and I wish to see more performances of this amazing quartet in the near future.

Thank you! I'm playing a Selmer Series III soprano with an S-80 C* mouthpiece refaced by Robert Scott, and Vandoren traditional #3.5 reeds. I also very much like Selmer's new Concept mouthpiece and may be switching to one in the near future.

At the time of this recording I was playing on a Selmer S80 C** refaced by the late Robert Scott of Lansing, MI. BUT, a couple years ago I did indeed switch to a Selmer Concept mouthpiece.

yes, I am the dislike. sorry, I am tired of saxophone quartets trying to make a SAXOPHONE sound like something else. Bari = Cello, Tenor = bassoon, soprano = clarinet or oboe. As a personal preference I only like a classical sound on alto. The rest of the family they want to scream!
@haon7272w9 жыл бұрын
That's pretty harsh to pretty much disdain thousands of musicians for their choice of playstyle. These four have amazing sound, even for professionals. They could play circles around you and your misguided opinion.
@kinigit9 жыл бұрын
wibli So you prefer saxophones to play jazz or rock; that's fine. But don't dislike something on KZbin because it's not your preference. These guys are amazing. I went to school with Dan, the soprano player and he is one of the hardest working, most dedicated musicians I have ever met. What have you done that would impress us?
