I am American and never heard of Legs & Co until a few months ago when I stumbled upon them by watching old TOTP episodes on KZbin. We had something similar in the U.S. called the Solid Gold dancers who were all classically trained athletic dancers.

Came to the UK as part of a dance troop in 1978. Loved every minute but the difference in popular music was totally different from what we danced to !

Those interviews took place in 2001 so I don't know how they look now. Got the feeling that some of them had had cosmetic surgery, but I wouldn't have guessed it if I didn't know who they were.

That clip, right at the end of this vid, of Bing Crosby live saying right after the last bar of his number, "Go girls, go," when he saw the dancers off camera lining up for the next number, is classic. I remember that broadcast at the time - - Crosby was a legendary crooner in his time but accepting his time had gone, he's perfectly ok with the audience turning away from his act to the next number the second he finished the song. Cool.
