A great tribute to the Benny Goodman Trio and Quartet!! Extremely talented YOUNG musicians doing an excellent job of bringing the music to life... Good to know that this music will go on and be heard by a new generation of young people that hopefully will become fans of this great music.

Hi Marvin, nice last name :) This concert was so fun for us. I hope we can do it again. Christian Sands is a monster player. Notice there's no bass player, and he's playing all the bass notes with his left hand :)

Thanks, Mike! It was an amazing experience. Christian Sands played his butt off. So lucky to have him on the show with us. Plus the outfit he's wearing was brand new that night! He came from the store with new leather shoes, suit, shirt and tie, fresh out of the box for the gig. It was so fun. Hope to see you in NYC sometime.

Good playing here. The program began with After You’ve Gone. To marvel at Goodman’s delirious technique, listen to his recordings of this song. There is a transcription on KZbin that allows you to follow his magic. Or The World Is Waiting For the Sunrise. Or Rachel’s Dream. I’m in my 70’s, play clarinet and have listened to a multitude of great clarinet players for 60 plus years. IMHO, Goodman remains at the top of the list…………..all the while acknowledging greats like Pete Fountain, Artie Shaw, Buddy De Franco, Kenny Davern, Edmond Hall, Pee Wee Russell, Eddie Daniels to name some. Again, IMHO, the current king of approachable clarinet playing-and by that I refer to repertoire and style- is Ken Peplowski, a demon on clarinet.

It's so sad that the clarinet just doesn't get the attention it deserves. This is great great music brought back by brilliant artists and less than 1000 people have been able to witness this for every year its been on this platform.
