It seems like the Captain doesn't feel rushed when he plays with Pete, and consequently does some of his best work.

Patrick Tracy I think it's cause him and cap play similar blues music while rob plays generally more rock stuff.
@tankgrrl8 жыл бұрын
I get that too. I think maybe, and no offense to Rob meant by this, Rob plays a bit too long sometimes. Fair enough that it seems to be he's listening and noodling with whatever gear it is, but it often means Lee is sitting there waiting for him to be done. Pete plays a bit, stops, reacts, maybe plays a but more, but there's more air left free to talk (or move on.)
@HARwinsOUTagain8 жыл бұрын
I agree fully. Chappers is great. But he just....noodles and noodles and shreds all day long. It's too much sometimes. The Captain has a completely different style and it's difficult for him to jam off of all the shred.
@paulhaggerty91564 жыл бұрын
I think the best compliment one can give to a musician is to spontaneously laugh at something they just played. That reflex to laugh when you hear something exceptional is uncontrollable gratitude for having heard it. You two, in particular, react to each other in that manner and it is as much a joy to see as it is to hear both of your playing.

@frossbog6 жыл бұрын
I love tube amps, but let's face it. At some point, they WILL go the way of dinosaurs. Whether it is in 20 years or 200 years, the time is coming and probably sooner rather than later. I bought one of these and I've had it for 9 months, the longest I've ever kept a digital amp. What this amp does that I have never gotten from any other amp, including the much heralded Blackstar TVP series is the ability to completely control your sound from the guitar. Plug in a Les Paul. Put it on the Crunch channel with the gain at about noon and the volume around 8 and you can produce anything from clean to ACDC using nothing but your volume control and pick attack. Other amps have done a decent approximation of this ability but the sound was always very sterile. With the Katana 50 it all sounds and FEELS very organic and natural. It's all VERY reminiscent of a good Peavey Classic 50 and it takes pedals as well as a tube amp too. You aren't going to beat the sound and feel of this amp in the digital realm without spending at least a grand.
@hanif76126 жыл бұрын
They’re fine if your playing in your bedroom, jamming in the garage or maybe for a small club gig. But speaking from experience, when you’re playing on a big stage, nothing beats a 100 watt tube head with a 412 cab (or maybe 2) to actually cut through. Perhaps this would be more usable if they’d make a ‘pro’ version with at least 600 watts of power on it. A 100 watt solid state just doesn’t have enough ‘bite’ in them if you know what I mean.
@tylerhiermusic6 жыл бұрын
This amp is plenty loud enough to compare to a 100W "tube" amp. And if you want a 412 cab under it, then just plug one in. This amp is ridiculously loud. Don't knock it til you try it. Solid state has gone a LONG way since the past 5 years.
@boggeshzahim37136 жыл бұрын
Blue Rock Yeah, if anything the valve amps will be kept around as a reference to what you want your amps to sound like, but the technology won't be necessary anymore to create those sounds

THANK YOU, Lee and Pete, for turning me on to this amp. My main rig is an Orange Rocker 32 and a pile of pedals, but the Orange really needs to be turned up and “breathe” to do its thing. The Katana 100 1x12 couldn’t be a more perfect amp. Ridiculously affordable, takes pedals well, great built in FX, loop, USB, line out... It’s perfect. Tone is right up there with my Yamaha THR10C, more than ample volume. I don’t think there’s a better amp to be had, tube or solid state, for $350 USD.

I have a Budda Superdrive 30 I cant move past 3 on the master without the soundman screaming about stage volume. If I cant crank it to take advantage of the tube compression, may as well not play a tube amp at all. I have a Katana 100 on order, and I'm sure it will do just fine.

A boss manager has explained somes details on a forum : " The thing that is unique about WAZA, Blues Cube, and Katana is that they are designed to capture all the power amp stuff we love about classic amps. There is a ton of effort going on inside Katana to reproduce the tone and experience of vintage transformers, capacitors, phase inverters, and even the dynamic interaction that occurs between the speaker and amplifier like it would in a typical tube amp." Jeff S. Boss Manager. --------------------------------- Q :FM1968 said: ↑ So is Tube-Logic digital modeling or analog? Thanks for joining our conversation! A: Thanks for having me BTW . Tube-logic is not analog. But we don't really consider the Katana, Waza, or Blues Cube modeling either. Modeling is a term used to describe an attempt at a clone of an existing product. Yes, analog is being studied and various components are being researched and recreated in digital but in general we are working toward our own sound and not saying it is a copy of tone X, Y, and Z. With the exception of artist based sounds in the Tone Capsules. For artist capsules like the one for Eric Johnson we worked for months going back and forth with Eric and his tech to nail his tone. Hope that helps. Jeff S. ------------------------------------ Q: bluescube said: ↑ Hey Jeff, What is the major Tube Logic difference between the Katana and Blues Cubes? A: The Tube-Logic portion of both amps is basically the same. But there are some differences worth noting. The first is simply sonic choice of the amp set. For example: A Blues Cube Artist starts with a sound set based on more of an American 6L6 design. The Katana leans more towards EL34's. The next major difference is in the hardware. The Blues Cube series is a discrete class A/B design and the Katana is an IC class A/B design. The physical power amps for both are class A/B and both dynamically interact with the live speaker as do tube amps. Tube-Logic is about capturing the experience and sound of vintage transformers, power tubes, phases inverters and that whole dynamic power amp thing tube amps do. Jeff S. ---------------------------------------- Q: Hawgfan27 said: ↑ Really appreciate you swinging by to answer questions. On demo's I've seen people use both the volume and the master to control overall volume. Do you recommend using the volume to affect "power amp distortion" and fine tuning with the master volume? A : Yes, absolutely. The thing that is unique about WAZA, Blues Cube, and Katana is that they are designed to capture all the power amp stuff we love about classic amps. There is a ton of effort going on inside Katana to reproduce the tone and experience of vintage transformers, capacitors, phase inverters, and even the dynamic interaction that occurs between the speaker and amplifier like it would in a typical tube amp. BOSS intention is to give you an amp that has power amp sound and feel but with level control. I tend to tell people to start off with it on ten and work your way backward. Imagine if you were to put a Katana 100 head in an A/B switcher with an actual vintage Plexi. The plexi has no master volume and in tube amps the last stage clips first. I set the Channel and Master on Max to get that same thunderous dynamic power amp thing I love then back down (or not) the volume via the power control. If you have a tube amp you love try doing the same thing for fun. As guitar players we love classic tones like Eddie, Jimi, and Page and not one of them had a master volume on there amp. You can run the WAZA, Blues Cube, or Katana pushing the power amp but they all have the power control feature to maintain the tone but at a lower wattage. Jeff S.
