Been playing one of these in the shops. Can say that this is one of the best Moogs ever made in terms of fun, accessibility, fun, SOUND and, just the fun of it. Takes me back to when I first played a Minimoog 40+ years ago. Music is supposed to be this much fun. And these two fellas seem to be all in the fun of it as well.

19:31 You can make the oscillators drone if you connect the keyboard out into the attenuator and invert the voltage, and from there plug the inverted voltage into the pitch inputs of the oscillators. As the voltage is the same as the hard wired keyboard voltage, but with opposite polarity, the original and inverted voltages cancel each other out. You can also turn local control off, and just use CVs to control the oscillators.

@purpled48644 жыл бұрын
@@thomas_S.O.P. I got myself the minilogue (standard). The XD does has more features but nothing really special or worth the additional cost. However I've found that the minilogue on it's own is perfect. Full analogue circuit, built in delay and sequencer, up to a 4 voice polyphony andit has this very unique overall tone. If had describe it I'd say it's a /cold/ sounding synth. It's not semi modular but if your not entirely familiar with synthesis I'd say that's a good thing. I'm sorry for making this sound like an advertisement but I can strongly recommend.

It just sounds like a decent amount of modulation, some resonance and they close the filter a bit with some spring reverb.
@snardash_11973 жыл бұрын
If I'm not mistaken, they have that super noisy patch below, then, they max the resonance of the filter that is key trackable (basically another oscillator that you can give pitch to with the keyboard) and start playing the patch as a whole as sort of a lead. Since the resonance is so extreme it works and is an audible melody And yeah it sounded awesome I think this is very do able in a prophet type synth, not exactly like that, but you can get a similar sound

@jackduxburymusic6 жыл бұрын
Hey John, thanks for watching mate and for your question. We used the Cruiser as a preamp essentially. Sounded a bit skinny on it's own so any drive pedal or compressor pedal would do the same thing and act to just beef up the guitar signal a bit before running through the Moog's goodness. Seemed to turn out ok. All the best and thanks again X

@TheNimasan3 жыл бұрын
they came with mattriarch because they listened to the custumors and what they wanted. i played both. both incridible synths, but to me , if you compare the prices the grandma is absolutely the winner. mattriarch is for ppl who don't have couple of thousends euro rack modules, because its a complete system in itself and costs almost 3 grand. the granma costs around 600-800 ( based on condition) used and you can sync it to your rac and absolutely go nuts. I will never give mine away ever again. I already bought it, sold it, bought it again , borowed it and now she came back after almost a year. now she is gonna stay forever!!!!
@dazeja3 жыл бұрын
@@TheNimasan I think I agree/ if I had the room I would buy 4 Grandmothers for four notes but hey I don't have to, since they did come out with the Matriarch. With that said, the delay on the Matriarch is worth it's weight in gold by itself. But I do like the grandmother better.

Interestingly, you rarely see professional musicians performing live with these. Perhaps it’s the 32 key limitation or that there are other monophonic synths with more features for a similar price. The ‘dark’ version without the coloured panels I feel is infinitely more visually and aesthetically appealing though so much harder to source

I tried both a couple weeks ago side by side, they're both great. The sub37 has presets, the grandmother has a better raw sound. If you play in a band, or you otherwise rely on presets in the studio (e.g. change patches in the middle of a song or need to go back and forth between patches), the sub37 is the better choice. The sub37 also has a very slightly larger keyboard. Hope this helps!
