Just great with this whole recording.remember to see part 1. This is written after the LUNA release. Got two x8p UA interfaces and a UAD-2 Satellite Octo at home. Bought the Arrow to practice LUNA and to make small recording on the road with my Macbook. Universal Audio have made me play more and record more. It's just so much more fun :-)

Okay, after subbing to this channel to not miss this video, I can finally relax because I heard the (almost) finished track. Great song you did there "on the fly" with a really professional sounding quality. But I still don't see the upside getting this over my M-Audio M-Track 2x2M which has a midi-in on top and the pres are also really good - even with a SM-57 on almost full gain. I know that UA is in another class of sound quality, but for me as an amateur home recording musician the gain in sound quality does not justify the immense gain in money I'd have to spend on this. Apart from the plugins that are also pricey whereas an Slate Digital subscription is really affordable and also features latency free tracking. So I do have a really good sound for around 100 quid plus $15 a month for the plugins. This one is 450 quid plus something between 200 and 400 per plugin. If it was half the price I would consider getting it but that is just too steep for me.

Absolutely. And I am only assuming that others are right in claiming that it is another class of sound (since I don't afford UA hardware). From what I can hear on KZbin it is very good sounding but my cheapo setup does also sound very good. Maybe if you are a professional musician and the last 10% matter, it is worth the investment. For me, it's not. I would also need a new Macbook Pro to power it and could only use it stationary with my iMac right now. My old Macbook does have enough power to supply my M-Track though. Apart from all that: If I didn't have an interface yet, I would really consider this one, especially for all the plugins that are coming along. Maybe the Tech channel could do a shootout between interfaces like the Arrow, M-Track, Scarlett etc. to show how much of a difference there really is and what would be the right choice for whom?

I say if you can afford it then go for it. I remember last year around November I decided to purchase an Apollo Quad and then grabbed a bundle pack during the Holiday sales and now all that money is back and earned but I can rest knowing I made the investment, it’s not for everyone but it sure is nice to have, if you want the best skip the arrow and snag an Apollo but even this one is nice to have to start with but for one the go I would lean towards a Spire Studio 8 track recording if you have the Spire app and iPhone but yea UA is my home rig, it’s flawless.

Obviously this was a while ago. In a similar sense I had the same thoughts. My biggest issue though was latency. Found an Apollo twin used and it solved the latency issue I was plagued with. The stock plugins are more than enough but the Neve 1073 is worth it. I have Wave plugins for post effect but the latency (or lack of) made this worth the switch.

If you think this pretty lady done this song on the fly you’re sadly mistaken she practiced this song for a month at least I don’t care how good you are you still need to practice to get the song down tight and have ingrained to remember the words! No difference in quality, Apollo twin is more because it comes with more plug-ins. Far as quality every universal audio interface comes with the unison preamp so either version is equal.

Have to say, i get more than a bit tired of the endless use of "vintage" for everything from guitars, to audio gear to hand tools etc. etc. All we seem to do is to use modern tech to recreate old stuff. Give me some new stuff!
