He also remembers his mother who was an exemplary music artist yet never got her due when she was alive.
Shaji Chen (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaji_Chen) is a renowned writer, movie actor, music and movie critic. He started his career as a Music Industry A&R Executive and later moved to advertising and then to writing. He has written more than 10 books on movies, music and memories. He witnessed and chronicled the evolution of Indian popular music and movies in his reviews and writings. In the last few years, he has been acting in Tamil Movies with occasional outings to Telugu and Malayalam movies.

My fav character in kandukonden is major bala played by mammotti. It relates very well with many common men who don't seem sweet or cute outside, but really good at heart. And what a matured and unconditional love of mammotti and aishwarya. I use to just watch that pre climax scene between them both multiple times

Unless u not born in that particular family, u r not entitled to the family name, like in kerala, they have family names, that's not earned but got by birth. If u r not born in that family you are not born in the particular community that was once named after that one particular family that multiplied into a community. But it wasn't registered those days. Only British did it. Ppl lived in groups. They did what they cud nd they were identified by that. They never lived alone. If they did, no one recognized them if they enter a new village. Even now be it any community, they don't mingle with other communities if they are well structured nd built. Not just upper or lower. All are the same in this matter. Even tribes don't mingle with others nd the never gave a shit about how others think of them or about their status. They live their life peacefully. Unless one don't care of who the person they get closer to nd willing to risk, they mingle with evryone nd share bride nd groom. Ppl from India are not ready to take risk especially when it comes to marriage. They know evryone inside their community nd so their background. So if somthing goes out of hands, they have their community members to back them up. This is just like how any trade union functions. That's the only reason y even so many invasions cudnt eradicate the communities in India it exists among all religions. But u must know that it's not only unique to India but communities nd groups are evry wr.

Rajiv Menon is a rubbish director. He was never a director material. Minsara Kanavu was a fluke success. Kandukonden Kandukonden was a disjointed film and a silly childish film. It was like watching a school kids' drama in teachers day function.

Rajiv Menon was a one film fluke wonder, and he disappeared quickly after one film fluke success. He is a nothing material and hence the reason he got eased off from the directors firmament.
