Andong Hahoe Folk Village is a traditional Korean village located near the city of Andong in South Korea.
Andong Hahoe is a clan-based village from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). It’s considered one of the most representative and historically significant villages in South Korea.
Architecture: The village’s architecture reflects the Confucian values of morality and hierarchy prevalent during the Joseon Dynasty. You’ll find both aristocratic residences and simpler thatched-roof servant houses. Many of these buildings are still inhabited and well-preserved.
UNESCO World Heritage Site: In 2010, both Hahoe village and Yangdong village (near Gyeongju) were listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to their intangible cultural value and historical significance.
