This is an example of how this show sneaks up on you. It gives you confidence in the filmmakers that when they spend time setting up a scenario, the payoff is going to be worth it.

yeah something not mentioned a lot when praising this show is the effects, which is a good thing because the best effects will be totally seamless from the viewers accepted reality. also how the eye looks was ultimately up to the vfx artists, showing the art component.

Cinta is a beast. We've been told she is the hardest among the group. A question to keep in mind: Did Cinta kill the hostages? Nemik calling out to Andor "Climb!" as he was about to die was like K-2SO calling out "Climb!" to Andor as he also was about to die. Andor had no choice but to kill Skeen. If he'd rejected Skeen's offer, Skeen would have to kill him. This show does, indeed, get better.

I think she did. As what comes up later, the Aldhani heist fulfilled two goals of the Rebellion: acquiring funds and goading them to put the hammer down. Most fascist systems are built on the idea that they keep their citizens “safe” through “strength” and if a group of like a half dozen “terrorists” can rob them and kill a bunch of people without repercussions, people will start asking “why are we giving up our freedoms if you aren’t even going to keep us safe?”, so they react *exactly* as Luthen wants them to

Seriously... this is the best Star Wars has been in decades... Such a great series. ...Also 'Climb!' is becoming a bit of a recurring theme in Cassian's life, innit...?

The visuals in this episode are stellar (no pun intended)! Also I do wonder how much of the Imperial Senate's apathy is from not caring about other people and how much is because of them feeling powerless.

Conservatives never care about anybody other than themselves - and will lie to gain their riches. Mon Mothma pretends to be a "concerned", "woke" politician ... but she's only doing that as cover for her true motivation ... the funding of a Rebel Alliance to take on the Empire.

If you think about it, Cassian had little choice but to kill Skeen: Had he taken the offer, he would most likely have been killed by Skeen once they’d made the escape. Much like in the first episode, he quickly realised he couldn’t trust the person opposite him, and that it was a kill or be killed situation.

when he said 40 million each andor knew there were two options, he says no and the guy kills him before he can tell anyone or he says yes and the guy turns on him last and kills him, because anyone who would kill their friends for 40 million credits would kill someone they hate for 40 million more. he needed a third option, shoot first

The Aldahni Heist is my favorite arc of the series. Cassian joins the crew as an unknown to them and to the audience still. We don't know how good he is but this arc displays it beautifully. The great thing about this is when the heist was going down, they intentionally didn't tell us everything about it and how they were going to be taking hostages and using the skeleton crew to load the ship. Gorn went down immediately and without fanfare along with Tierimann who went down when Skeen wasn't giving good cover. Nemik getting crushed was the hardest hit and you even felt it. So good. Then when Skeen was saying they need to save Nemik, I was calling BS, he's got something else in mind and we see how that played out. Skeen is the type of person that Cassian could have turned into and maybe Cassian didn't like what he saw. Either way, it was a great moment. Cassian is still out for himself, but not in it to screw others, so SKeen could have made excusese and what not to put Cassian's life in danger. Another bold move by our man. At the end I thought the dude asking about Aldhani in Luthen's shop was someone that was coming for him but it was just a dude reading the paper. Great misdirect! And Luthen laughed...

For me, this is the best Star Wars has been since the original trilogy. I really enjoyed the first two seasons of The Mandalorian but here…the writing, acting, character development…as you said, chef’s kiss. Unfortunately, I think the writer’s strike means season 2 might be delayed until ‘25

This episode was just like you said hold your breathe the whole time, I think Luthan's exhale at the end of the episode, after he learns the heist was successful, is exactly how most of the audience felt at the end, "ahhh now I can breathe"!

After you're done with this series, there are several really good breakdown videos about its brilliance on KZbin, I highly recommend. There were a bunch of things in here that I didn't catch, and I've watched this series through a few times.

14:00 I’m of the camp that Cinta killed those hostages. She’s a stone cold operator that frankly the Rebellion probably had to have way more of than they’d like to admit

It's such a damn shame that barely anyone watched this show when it first came out because it garnered the reputation of "It doesn't feel like Star Wars". I honestly believe that this is the greatest thing to come out of Star Wars since The Empire Strikes Back. It's just so well-crafted in every aspect. I hope it wins some Emmy Awards.
