This episode was one of the darkest for me by far. The incarceration, forcing prisoners to compete against themselves and distracting them from who their real enemy is...all the while profiting from their labor, and tightening their grip on the world- it disturbed me so much...because of what it was saying about the real world.

This was absolutely the reflection episode. From amazon workers "pushing or sprinting" through parts of their shifts to the "If you don't have anything to hide" data acquisition / police surveillance state we've been living under. Even the fact that we have no idea of laws that get passed in our countries or the laws that have been passed already because we just don't pay attention or its intentionally kept quiet and out of our reach. Agreed, what's more is we don't even know what they are putting together. And what could be even more interesting is if their finished products are transferred to another line for disassembly by another floor or whatever with the process repeating in circles just for the prisoners to think they are being productive in some way and always competing against each other in a vicious cycle of assembly and disassembly.

Another fantastic episode of what has quickly become my favourite Star Wars series. It was great to see Stellan Skarsgard and Forest Whitacker on screen together - two absolute acting powerhouses. Factions will form in any political or social movement it would seem, so it was interesting to here of that within the would-be Rebel Alliance. Different groups vying for influence and power, coming to ideological loggerheads, etc. I think it's a detail that helps to add a little layer of authenticity and realism. I'm loving seeing the level of tyranny from The Empire and that prison system, complete with mind-numbing work detail, is monstrous. I have a theory on Mon Mothma's daughter. I think she might be critical of The Empire/sympathetic towards The Rebellion. It would explain another element of her apparent animosity towards her mother if she simply sees Mon Mothma as a willing cog in the empirical machine. However, they have established that she's quite intelligent and observant, so I think she's going to work out that Mumma Mothma is working to undermine The Empire and want to be a part of it. That will change the dynamic of their relationship considerably which could tip off the husband/father who I feel is most concerned with his economic, social, and political position and may well betray his family in order to preserve it. Anyway, that's just my little prediction on that front. Nice reaction guys, keep 'em coming.

this episode is the beginning of the new 3 episodes arc like episode 1. Thats why it's slow, they building a story foundation and introducing us to the new character that would be crucial later on, like Melshi from Rogue One. In this episode, he's the one who tell Andor to not look at the numbers. He's the future Captain of Rebel Special Force called Pathfinders and he's the one who free Jyn Erso from Imperial Labor Camp and later on in the end, he's one of many that will volunteer to go to Scarif and meet his end there. Just like Cassian Andor. Episode 7 is the stand alone episode, a transition episode. Episode 8, 9 and 10 is the three episodes arc. So this one episode 8 is the beginning of the new arc. Episode 10 is the climax that will blow up like episode 3 and 6. Episode 11 and 12 is the finale and the resolution.

I didn't like the prequels, didn't like Rogue One. I don't harsh on other folks' yum, so if you liked them, cool! Mandalorian revived my spark of interest in Star Wars. It was FUN. But this show? By leaps and bounds, my ABSOLUTE favorite Star Wars, ever. The acting, story, visuals, all of it are just... jaw-droppingly well-executed. Even brief chats in a corridor are gripping. I find myself rooting for the upstart Imperial security officer until I have to remind myself 'dude, remember all these people are f'in Nazis'. Oh right. Just... wow.
