As far as I'm concerned this series is starting out on the right foot. I like the introduction of some of the key characters, including Cassian Andor himself, giving hints to their motivations and why they hate the impire so much. Looking forward to following this series all of the way.

I wonder if anyone else noticed: Cassian's tribe consists very strongly of young people/children, there are not the same number of adults around, and they live like they are displaced. They pass a huge mining pit, (where cassian stops) on the way to the ship, so it seems we see the reason for their displacement. And if this is the Republic (and I guess it is Clone Wars/Palapatine's republic) then it is clear, why Cassian won't have good opinion of the Republic. The Republic offices goes "shoot" first, once he gets off the ground, in spite having a youngster standing there. Which says a lot more about the Republic in those scenes.

Yea I was thinking all the adults must have died in the catastrophe they mention in the corporate scene with the company officers. And it would explain his "Ive been in this fight since I was 4 yrs old" line from Rogue one. Cause he's definitely older then that now so maybe he's counting from the day he was orphaned. Maybe he was 4 and his sister was 1 when their family died.

I liked it, especially 3. Thanks for explaining so many details. I think I read Karn wrong. It seemed that after he saw the hologram of Andor, his attitude changed and after that he seemed really reticent about the whole mission. In one of those last scenes, he froze and was standing there frozen. He seemed traumatized. I got the feeling that when he saw the hologram, he realized that he recognized Andor and knew him and then felt completely conflicted.

My take on him was that was his first real life mission. A complete novice in the real world who wants justice for the two early deaths. I think at the end he’s in shock at what went down. He thought he’d just walk in and get him. From here on i reckon he will double down on hunting Andor down.

Honestly it reminded me of the Han Solo trilogy written by Brian Dailey. The main antagonist in those books was called The Corporate Sector Authority. They were affiliated with The Empire and were in some ways more ruthless and viscous. They wanted control of their areas without getting the attention of the Empire and they allowed things the empire didn’t. The books are Han Solo at Star’s End Han Solo’s Revenge (best of the series) Han Solo and the Lost Legacy.

Looking forward to the rest of this series. Can't say it's my favourite Star Wars thing since Disney yet (that goes to the Seige of Mandalore arc in the Clone Wars). I also found myself getting into the Mandalorian much faster than I did this, but 12 episodes should be plenty to change my mind. Sucks we only get one episode a week going forward 😅 Edit: after watching it all, it is incredible. It still isn't my favourite, and I'll be looking forward to other projects a little more that season 2, but it is a fantastic piece of work. I kind of hope we get a show in the future that sort of merges that style of writing with some of the mystisism and jedi stuff I love about star wars.

Even as a huge Star Wars fan I was not planning on watching this series as it did not seem worth the time to me. However I did end up watching the first 3 episodes released thus far and I have to say I very much find it interesting. The world and setting is so intriguing and Cassian is more interesting than I thought he would be. I liked him in rouge one however I didn't think of him as special. This show has the potential to be very deep and most importantly tell a great story.

I would like for them to again incorporate Naboo into the early days of the RA. Since they were the first to take on evil corporations (The Trade Federation) they should again come to the forefront. Like did they upgrade their Naboo Starfighters for any future conflicts with outside forces. Who became Queen of the Naboo after Queen Jamilia and other things.

GEEK ALERT: Did anyone notice that when Cassian was scanned as he entered the bar, it was the same sound effect that was used in The Incredibles when Syndromes drone scanned the bones of Gazerbeam?

Two possible easter eggs.1. In the warehouse during the fight between corporate security and Cassian with Lucien, the large objects on the ground and suspended from the ceiling look like struts that connect the solar panels to the body of the Tie Fighter. 2. Corporate security uniforms look similar to the Bespin Guards from Empire Strikes Back.

I agree on those uniforms, similarity to the Bespin guards, although, Kenner/Hasbro produced Expanded Universe toys, particularly the prototype of what became the Bespin Cloud Car (which became the Twin-Pod Cloud Car), but more importantly, the action figure of said prototype's pilot, whose uniform piping, and especially hat, more closely resembles Karn and his organization's. Many of the offshoot series or films have retrofitted forgotten Kenner toys, as well as Ralph McQuarrie prototype sketches. The animated series Rebels is heavily noted for this, one of the main characters is actually the McQuarrie prototype of Chewbacca, and one of the transports very frequently used is the Rebel Troop Transport toy.

I think it would be really bad ass for this season and next season of Andor to feed into a future series that shows the really unheard of large scale battles between the rebellion and the empire which gets mostly covered in the twilight company battlefront books but to cover other battles those books did not but I say make those seasons eight episodes but at the minimum an hour long or the same as Game of Thrones!!!

Andor is getting really great reviews. I love it! It's already everything that I was hoping for. The only thing that's cracking me up is that it's considered "fresh," with little connection to previous Star Wars productions, but all I can see is a Star Wars Rebels Remix. "Pockets of fomenting." I recognize "spark of rebellion" when i hear it, used in very similar contexts, spoken by 2 people in the same line of work. In both shows, thieves with no professional connection to anyone, are being watched for months by people with very strong connections tore being monitored silently by someone who has very heavy connections to rebel cells against the Empire. (Bail Organa, in the case of Star Wars Rebels.) Eventually, the thieves join a rebel cell that soon becomes the Rebel Alliance. I would write a lot of this off a coincidence if not for the "pockets of fomenting" part, and when Luthen's escape with Cassian was reminiscent of Ezra Bridger's escapes through the underground sewers, or through air ducts in the ship. But these things made me love the show even more, And here is my prediction that I meant to leave 2 or 3 days ago. Kenari is one of the places that the Separatists were using to build the Death Star, probably mining for a giant kyber crystal. When it was obtained, the Separatist killed all the people at the mine, in the daytime while everyone was still there and the kids were home. A ship was returning with intentions of killing everyone there with that green gas, but the ship crashed, and all personnel died. But some of that green gas escaped and made the planet toxic. The Empire later got it right and exterminated all life on Geonosis, to leave no witnesses of the Death Star plans, except Klit Klat. This is the same gas that I'm assuming is responsible for Saw Guerrera's breathing mask. He was stuck in the caverns of Geonosis for 2 days in Star Wars Rebels, very shortly before the events of Rogue One. It's all a coverup for the Death Star, but there was a survivor on Geonosis that can draw a pretty good likeness of what he could see being constructed before it was moved somewhere else. And before that, the children were the survivors, likely knowing nothing, but the Separatist Movement can't be too careful. That's my official early prediction.

The people from the downed ship were wearing CIS (separatists) badges. I think Marva was just expecting the Republic to show up and investigate the wreckage because it was probably Republic ships that caused them to crash on Kenari.

After watching all 3 episodes, I rewatched Rogue One again. Personally I feel Jyn Erso had so much bigger part than Cassian Andor. Yet she got no show. I was hoping for a kick ass female lead since they screwed up Rey. I read somewhere Jyn Erso WAS supposed to be Rey's mom but they screwed that up too.

It's funny I remember talking to a lot of people after Rogue One and they were saying they didn't like it but I loved it. It was a little gritty, well acted I felt, and just felt a lot more real to me. But all of a sudden the same people are like I like Rogue One, go figure. Like people were criticizing the move like Han and Rouge One but to me those were my favorites of the new generation.

First two episodes were awful, despite objectively good filmmaking. No plot, no explanation of what the characters want, and really quite dull. Could have been condensed to 5 minutes and we would have got all the info we needed. The third on the other hand was pretty good. Was close to giving up, now I have relatively high hopes.

A mining accident was the excuse given to the Senate for what happened on Jedha in Rogue One. I'd bet something happened and Palps covered it up. Maybe it happened when Cassian was 6 and his parents died leaving him with his sister.

The insignia worn by the crashed ship personnel is actually that of the CIS - it isn't republic, which makes Maarva's reference to one of the persons as a "Republic Officer" odd. To be honest it didn’t grab me till the third episode. The first 2 episodes were too slow for me. Episode 4 will be much better I’m hoping. Rogue One was my least favorite out of all of the films.

I’m not interested in this. I’m kinda tired of prequels. There’s no real risk in them. You can’t kill someone that is alive in a “later” movie. Doesn’t help that I don’t really care for any of the characters in this.

I have some questions about the nature of the Kenari Flashbacks such as what happened to the Adults in Kassa's tribe? The lead female looks like she is in her late teens. I actually wonder if whomever ran the abandoned strip mine killed off/murdered the adults in the tribe and left Kassa and the other kids to fend for themselves. The kids reminded me of a Cargo Cult.

I'm not sure that Kenari isn't toxic. Did you notice how everyone on the planet is young? Maybe the mining accident causes all the inhabitants to die in early adulthood.

I actually do not agree with your Timeline. Cassian said in Rogue One, "I have been in this Fight since I was 12 Years Old!" , just after he was confronted on the Plane for having the orders to Kill her father Galen Erso. So it seems to me that when he turned 12 years old was when the Empire was just starting their oppression... thats why that crew was so ready to kill everyone around there, Republic officers would not have such a reputation, neither would the Separatists. So this is either within the first year of the Empire, or its a secret crew of Dooku, Grievous, or Palpatine.

The breakdown of the first 3 episodes was really helpful - thank you for that. I seem to not be in line with other viewers, because frankly, I was pretty bored with the first 3 episodes. Sure, everything looked amazing. And the warehouse scene was pretty good. But I’m generally underwhelmed with the story so far. Hopefully it gets more interesting.

I was a lot more engaged by these first episodes then I thought I would be. I did see poor stupid Timm's demise early on and that overly enthusiastic official, I knew he'd be responsible for letting things get out of hand. I kind of wish I could see him getting torn a new one by his boss. That brief scene when his superior was questioning him about what new additions to his uniform told us all we needed to know about his character.

The shuttle they used to get to the planet and how it dropped gave me the strongest Aliens vibes. They paid this back with the shuttle taking off and crashing immediately. No xenomorph was hurt in this crash. Game over man, game over!

I noticed that they have Imperial army troopers in this show (18:28), who are supposed to be the rank and file soldiers (while stormtroopers are supposed to be the elite force). Hopefully that's a sign that the writers/directors are actually putting care into the accurate representation of Imperial soldiers.
