Brilliant - I love it. All a great players at the very top of their game, though I haven't heard inteplay at this level for a long time. Very inspiring. Thanks for this.

I've been playing guitar for well over 30 years. Started with the classics, then Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, after which moved on to studying John McLaughlin, Larry Coryell, Pat Metheny, Al Dimeola, and all the other greats. But I've never heard/seen anything like Sylvain Luc. He seems to be so superior, like he's from another planet. I could envision being able to get somewhat close to the playing style of George Benson, John McLaughlin, even Bireli Lagrene, but never nowhere near Sylvain Luc. He leaves me speechless!

Yes, that's quite depressing, isn't it ;)

Totally agreed...this guy makes chords and runs totally different for the guys you mentioned he's just a different cat you're right different from Bireli. Guys like Carlton, Ritenhour, Scofield, Benson, Methany, Beck, McLaughlin, Montgomery, Furlow or Jim Hall will get ran off the stage by this guy. Ridiculously talented,

It take a good amount of crazy and genius to keep up with Sylvain Luc and Richard was obviously in step by the end of the set, which means he is also a crazy genius!

Just as Tom Eisenmenger said: It is 5th Ave Kingpin w/P90 pickup, 100% designed and Made in Canada, out of native Canadian woods, (with the exception of rosewood fingerboard), $699.00 CDN, by Robert Godin. Here are some links if you still need more details: - godinguitars.com/ - www.long-mcquade.com/

he got the exact right sound : the one inside is head.....if you're not able to listen to something else than a L5 i'm sad for you.....
@rauze43937 жыл бұрын
Franchement, ça me casse la tête.
@elgeeMusic111 жыл бұрын
CoolG, of course l'm able to listen to other guitars. What i meant was, Godin build great stuff but Sylvain is above that. Maybe even above the L5, the classical guitars fit him very well because of their unlimited harmonics opened sound. He plays fast and hits the strings hard, like Paco de Lucia, with lots of emotion and versatility. The Godin seems to flatten down a bit when he's hard on it. I'm not just criticizing, it's only a point of view!

@romaindelas79485 жыл бұрын
@STRUMMERBOY19754 жыл бұрын
Exactement........ Merci.....tu l'as dit avant moi.....
@elgeeMusic111 жыл бұрын
The 5th av. is 'cool' but why don't he play an old fat L5 to get the right sound? He's worth it
@fullmoon71926 жыл бұрын
Keep strumming your "Snob's guitar" (Gibson L5 that is Lol...). I'll enjoy my four (4) Godins. At least I (and many others) can afford them. P.S. The guitar that Sylvain plays in this video costs $699.00 CDN and can be bought in every little town in Canada by every high school student who is passionate about playing jazz on real, hollow body, jazz ax. Cheers ♫♫ ♥❀(~‿~)❀♥ ♫♫

Some people are just too clever. This is only of interest to a minority of music geek students. It's about as entertaining as listening to a quantum physics lecture. Clever, but who the hell can relate to it.
@joshuamullicanmusic74825 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. Clearly these three guys are amazing at what they do, and they seem to be having a blast, but that doesn't make it entertaining (to me).

Malheureusement, t'as raison.
