My husband, Joseph, and I love this song because it reminds us of his lovely mother (Albertina Rosalia) who survived all her generation, and remained as the last rose of summer, till she finally faded, and passed into eternity at the glorious age of 93.

Ik hield al van dit genre muziek sinds ik 16 jaar oud was en dat is 61 jaar geleden. Dat was in de tijd dat Bill Haley en Elvis Presley populair waren. Ik hoorde er niet bij en mijn klasgenoten vonden mij maar een rare vogel. Toch had ik altijd vrienden en vriendinnen genoeg. Ik heb altijd zelf bepaald wat ik zelf mooi vond en liet mijn oren niet hangen naar wat op op het moment populair was. Ik liep nooit achter de massa aan. Mensen die altijd zichzelf blijven dwingen meer respect af dan meelopers.
