As an elementary school student, I went on a couple of field trips to the Baltimore Museum of Art, and there was an exhibit called STRANGE FRUIT. If I remember correctly, b/c it has been 30+ years, this exhibit included a large metal or wooden statue of a person, hanging by the feet, and Billie Holiday's voice can be heard singing "Strange Fruit." As a child, I definitely did not understand, but it was still such a powerful, powerful display. I'm not sure if the museum still has the exhibit, but it was definitely an experience.

I've been waiting for this movie for a long time! Unfortunately, Hulu is not available in my region, otherwise I'd have purchased a subscription solely for this.

WOW! I just watched you all in the movie, and I was furtively impressed. Everyone gave evocative demonstrations of their characters, I felt like I was pulled into the era, experiencing the pain, the humor, the angst, the empathy of the time, the anger, and the horror, that oppression creates inside, along with the frustration of feeling tied up, wanting to do something, yet, trapped inside a warp of time. It makes me love her, all the more, and want to know more about her. Reading her history, your company did this fictional, yet, (close), but loosely based on truth story is excellently told. Thank you.

I studied The Civil War for 15 Years...and knowing what those who believe in the "Lost Cause" try and justify...this song is just one of the reminders of why I'm glad The Union won...awesome rendition...

It's just the way she says pluck 🥺I no the song from watching lady sings the blues since I was a teenager but I didn't know the words i thought it was more so a love story Ms Ross killed it in that movie. But after i watched this movie I watched the real billie holiday to see if she said it like that and she did
