There is one movie that I intend to watch as many as 25 times, it is Eyes Wide Open, an israeli movie.

Sadly I didn't manage to live in an old mansion on the Italian coast with open warm and highly cultured parents and a servant or two, and then have a huge first love affair at seventeen with a beautiful American graduate student.

I really had this perception in Call me by your name, the film, that there was some sort of malice in the way Elio and his then girlfriend go to the window to check out his father's pupil for that summer (i.e. Oliver). Like they have been playing games and making fun of the gentlemen who came to study in their villa in previous years. They instantly noticed that Oliver was different from the other students, this very self-confident young man who was talking to his hosts, upon arrival, like he knew them all of his life. For many people it is very difficult to be so comfortable in such occasions. It was also a beautiful tribute paid by director Luca to Mr. Aciman when he invited the author to be in the movie. To me it was somehow a touch of Alfred Hitchcock, who always made an appearance in his own movies. Aciman was getting in touch with his characters, a splendid moment.

"Find Me" is an old song from the late Laura Branigan , I hope they feature it in the movie adaptation if ever they make this into a movie.

Anyone knows what was the name of the book that Aciman mentioned in minute 39:00 ?. I am not a native in English and didn't understand which it was :(

He talks about W.G. Sebald, who wrote “The Emigrants“ and “Austerliz“ and many other books.

When Andre mentioned Egypt why didn't the interviewer just ask him about the Egypt written in Find me? It seems that Elio and Oliver went to Alexanderia in Find Me right?
