However Andre has done absolutely nothing to advance Black Americans in the fashion industry nor Vogue. Breaking down glass ceilings and not allowing others like you to enter actually is enforcing the agenda now Talley wants to be portrayed a victim of. Regardless of my personal opinion of how Andre didn't offer a helping hand for others like him to enter into the fashion world, I don't think a man of his status should continued to be taken advantage of. I hope that one of the celebrities can come to Andre's aid. I hope that Andre will humble himself and take some financial advice on how to manage his remaining assets. I would have subbed to your channel if y’all wasn’t laughing so hard at this mans downfall maybe that’s why this video has 8,000 views and y’all only at 340 subs its off putting. As a fellow you-tuber that talk news and commentary I have no problem with everyone having freedom to opinions but laughing at someone whose now about to be homeless it’s not a good look. Honestly it’s sad and anyone can fall on hard times. Nice intro theme btw good luck .

You know a lot of these people are not friends, they are business associates NOT FRIENDS. Unless they can write off the expense, they probably won't budge. They have to consult with their tax attorney and accountant before they do anything. Chances are they don't want to get involved. ijs

14:15 I relate to that point about needing to be wealthy for some kinds of jobs. I am educated in art museum work, but a marketing director salary was advertised as 30K salary at a big New York museum. I knew it was just a nominal salary for a rich person!

I'm a new subscriber, love the energy and just real conversation. I was laughing but this is so sad. Where is his family, and Andre is an icon. How humiliating this must be for him. I was wondering why 11 rooms but we have to think of the clothes he has amassed over the years. the rest of the rooms are probably full of clothes. He can sell that stuff and will probably be just fine.

@williamevans77262 жыл бұрын
Why should one ASSUME that family members will AUTOMATICALLY step in and save the day once you start experiencing SERIOUS financial problems? Most of the time, this DOESN'T HAPPEN.. The proverbial "Help is on the way" response, is often relative to the amount of MONEY that's required to resolve the situation.. Right? ALT had compiled HUGE DEBTS left, right, and center for years on end.. Not an easy equation to solve by any means.. What the hell was he thinking about? Considering HOW LONG he'd been working in the fashion industry as a highly visible & influential figure, he really should HAVE KNOWN BETTER.. I feel bad for anyone that gets "stuck" holding the short end of the stick once they reach a certain age.. I sure as hell hope that sh*t doesn't happen to me!!

This is quite unfortunate but let this be a lesson to all young people. Too many of us don’t put money away for our retirement. I have seen TOO many senior people who have not saved for retirement in their younger years and now are in a crisis mode. Put your money in dividend paying stocks and other investment vehicles, real estate NOW(passive income vehicles). Your money needs to be making money for you.
@MauriceRivers4152 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, Andre was a glorified pet, a token to those people, and he knew it. As a Black person, you don't usually reach certain levels/circles in the fashion industry (or ANY industry) because of your talent or influence: you're allowed in because you're a novelty and "fun", even when you have the credentials to stand on your own. But he made a choice to go along with the charade all these decades, because of the access it gave him to fashion. Deep down, he knew that without their fake-ass friendships and alliances, the privileges available to him would be cut off. Without the benevolence of Anna, he didn't have a leg to stand on in the fashion world. He sacrificed his pride and integrity to be Vogue's adored pet, until he wasn't anymore. He was the first Black creative director at American Vogue, although it is highly doubtful he would've ever been considered to replace Anna. He had a good run, but what a high price he paid.
