Love Andrea as a cliënt. She is always nice and polite. And happy with the nails the way she becomes them.
@calichef19624 жыл бұрын
Oh, wow! These turned out NICE!!! I could almost replicate them. I'd have to mix a little white into a less than crystal clear acrylic I have for the base acrylic, and I don't think I have the iridescent shards, but I _do_ have iridescent micro glitter that I think I could do a reasonable facsimile which would be very pleasing to look at, especially in the sunlight. I do hope we get to see the rest of Andrea's set and then I suppose we'll have a couple more days of random nail art on tips. After that it should be JJ's turn! I can hardly wait to see the set JJ gets for her "breaking the quarantine" nail set. I'm glad everyone seems to be going a centimeter (or so) shorter because I think they'd struggle with the extreme length after so long with only their natural nails. It's good that they don't want pointy nails, too! I could *never* wear the pointy shapes because A, I have a pair of little rule-breaking chihuahuas that unexpectedly jump up on me sometimes, and B, because I'm not very graceful. Actually, that's an understatement of the matter. My mother was right not to name me Grace because I'm kind of a klutz! But, oddly enough, when I drop things or knock them off a table or counter, I can almost always catch whatever I dropped, pushed, knocked or rolled off before it hits the floor. In fact, I've amazed a number of people with that weird ability of mine to simply catch things quickly! It's really hard to stop myself from catching sharp things (like KNIVES) when I drop them, though. Thankfully, my first instinct is to get my feet out of the way of a falling knife _before_ I have to stop myself from trying to catch a sharp blade that is falling at a break-neck speed!

Gloves issue.... My tattoo guy told me to buy a smaller size so they fit tighter "like second skin" tighter and it definitely makes a big difference. Hope it works for you too! 🧤😁

Ohh great tip, hers do look a little big , I’m going to have that in mind too
@calichef19624 жыл бұрын
Yes! I do the same thing! Before I started wearing them to work in regularly, I bought a size larger than I do now. I learned that I can pull the smaller size all the way to my finger tip (or nail tip) and be able to feel with my finger MUCH BETTER and they won't just flop forward off the end of my finger! Anyone with very pointy tips on their nails might need to put a piece of cotton or gauze pad in the tip of the finger to keep the nail from poking through.

I’ve had to go gloveless whenever applying forms. It was adding way too much time on my service. We just make sure to both wash and sanitize our hands before we begin. I sanitize again and glove up once forms are on. And I get my client to wash their hands after filing.
@molinalizbeth864 жыл бұрын
That was my question? Why the gloves if you sanitize ur clients hands and urs at the beginning of each service right? Not throwing shade just really wondering 🤔

LOVE these! It's so weird - I just did opal nails on myself last weekend lol. Of course, mine aren't even in the same class as these and I only did a white background, but I'm self-taught and I think they're the best nails I've done on myself yet. Added bonus - they match my opal jewelry, which is also my birthstone!

Talc your hand with the gloves on Kirsty, that's what my nail tech does and seems to work xx
@calichef19624 жыл бұрын
Maybe not talc, since it's come out that most talc actually has asbestos in it. In the US there is a massive lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson, the baby products company, because they *knew* about the asbestos in their talc products but didn't inform the consumers for DECADES. The settlement is in the BILLIONS of dollars! Maybe use corn starch instead? I think UK folks call it corn flour. It's the kind one uses to make sauces, gravies or pie fillings thick, *not* the kind one uses to make polenta. Although corn starch, substituted for half the flour in Scottish shortbread, makes the best, "shortest," shortbread I ever ate!

Which is the biggest reason why this channel exists! But I'm so happy to have this fabulous resource on KZbin that I LOVE buying their fantastic products, even if shipping to California is a challenge to my bank account. I just have to buy enough in one purchase to make the shipping costs worth it, and as great as Naio Nails products ARE, that is EASY-PEASY! Also, I absolutely LOVE the fact that all liquids are shipped in 30 ml. bottles. At first I thought it was kind of wasteful, but now I think it's genius! It's so much nicer to pour monomer into a dampen dish from a 30 ml. bottle than it is from a one liter bottle! It takes up less space on the work surface, where space is _always_ a premium, too! Naio Nails is just better than all the rest of the nail supply companies all the way around!

I've been watching you for years and you are seriously a great artist. I'm so sorry the gloves seem to be such a problem. I would say I can't imagine, but I can...I am a chemist and we are required to wear gloves and I could not pipette for the life of me for the longest time when I started wearing them. I needed my fingers, they were the most important tool to me. Over time I "learned" this is only going to make you better. The only tip I have as far as the glove is maybe getting the smallest size for now and working up. You said you are petite, so maybe an xs can help while you get accustomed, then go to the s when you have reconditioned your skin. Hey depending on length, we gotta adapt to our long or short nails...gloves and no gloves seems like a reasonable adaptation too ;) You can and you will master it!

Just an FYI from a healthcare worker, sanitizing your gloves with hand sanitizer actually makes them ineffective. As long as you have washed or sanitized your hands prior to putting on the gloves you are okay and then wash or sanitize your hands again once the gloves are removed.Love the opal!!!

Can you put acrylic on top of builder gel? Acrylic won't stay on my nails but builder gel stays on forever and I really want to try this!
@chaozinga4 жыл бұрын
Generally speaking no. Acrylic is harder than gel and it will crack. You can put gel, acrygel and gel polish on top of acrylic, and acrylic on top of acrygel. But not acrylic on top of gel 😊
@calichef19624 жыл бұрын
Yes, you absolutely can! Or you could mix a little white into some clear builder gel to get a milky white gel and go from there, if you would rather. But yes, you can put any acrylic product on top of any other acrylic product. They all work together. Powder and monomer, gel, hybrid gel, gel polish and even acrylic paint! You can also embed almost anything in the acrylic products, just not things that spoil like little bits of fruit or fresh flowers, because they will still spoil inside the acrylic products.
@patriciagallacher67414 жыл бұрын
I have put base coat under acrylic but l wipe clean the sticky layer as the acrylic slides around, it's good for problem lifters. Only other way l have tried is acrylic then cap with gel since its softer and easier to file.
@madnessaurus4 жыл бұрын
What if you were to run your fingertips in powder before you apply the forms, maybe that could help with the stickiness, but it would transfer into the form and that might make them pop off sooner

Sorry to say that I always have to wear gloves when I do nails because I'm allergic to products and it's just something you have to get used to. You can try baking soda on the tips of your fingers but then it takes the stick out of the form. Pick your poison! It does get less irritating!
