More focus on the base drum, ever harder, faster riffs, screamier, growlier singing, etc. So, if you enjoyed early 80s metal, 2000s metal might not be your cup of tea. Or, in other words, while I enjoy NWoBHM I really dont like Death Metal. Or Nu Metal. Doesnt mean that there arent modern songs I enjoy, but I have to look a bit more. I was getting angsty to hear it with constant delays, both with the band finding more scrapped material and legal issues with one of the former guitarists, but after nearly 2 years of waiting, the album dropped and I immediately went to Something Of My Own, and all my expectations were met. I enjoyed every seconds of this video. As a fan of Lovebites. I would really enjoy to see you playing one of their riffs. They really deserve it, and I think you can do it. Not sure for solos but riffs are OK.

As further proof that I'm old, I didn't have to look at the song titles to know the riff until 1993. The 80s were a fun time for music.

I can’t imagine how hard it was to narrow down to one song for each year in the 80s. Maiden no doubt had to make it in more than once 🤘

I am such an old soul. I was born in 1988; had no issues recognising anything from 1980 up til 1995, then I was only able to recognise about 3 songs after that lol

Funny, I was born in 1967 and kind of thought Pantera 1994 was it for me. But then came Korn...and Avenged Sevenfold...and Ghost...and Five-Finger Death Punch. I've really enjoyed all of those bands even though my core is Metallica/Megadeth/Maiden/Priest.

After the mid 90s it all sounds very similar, dark and chug-a-chug-chug. There must be some good stuff out there that isn't overlaid by screaming, right?
