I really enjoyed this video! I’m always looking for a dupe or a good drugstore alternative. Ty ty ty for using “alternative” rather than ‘dupe’ and explaining the differences! I so appreciate that. I think the same as you when I hear something being called a dupe. I expect it to be nearly identical in every way to the original or higher end product. Whereas if something is described as a good alternative, then my expectations are set and I don’t think it will be a spot on identical product. I already have some of the drugstore products you mentioned and I think I’m going to look in to purchasing some others. Hard Candy is out there killing it! I always noticed that with drugstore prices. Although cheaper upfront, the amount ends up being more expensive than the high end if you’re comparing the amounts. Also rare beauty is the same way although it’s not drugstore. She priced her products lower when compared to other Sephora brands but it’s less product and sometimes not worth it unless you love that formula or won’t use it before it expires.

I was just about to come and voice my thoughts on the cream products, but you said exactly what I was about to. Earlier this year, I had to get rid of the ABH cream bronzer since it was super old, expired, and I hadn't even used half of it at that point. I'd rather buy a smaller amount of product and be sure I'm able to use it up before it goes bad than spend more money, get more product and after a year or two, throwing it away. Can we normalize having mini versions of everything 😁 especially creams!

I agree that Patrick Ta has beautiful and great quality products.. but I will never buy his products because to me he is just way overpriced, $70 for that eyeshadow pallet is crazy IMO. I own a ton of high end products but for some reason his pricing just does not sit right with me. This is just my opinion please don’t come for me lol

Really an excellent video. I appreciate the level of detail! In regards to fenty, I got the set with the riri shade. The glossy lip is amazing so creamy, the cream gloss is okay, and I can't make my mind up about the liquid lipstick. Have you tried it and what did you think? Also I was worried the shade would be too dark but it is actually the exact same shade as my lips, even though I'm very pale. I also got the set with the 3 glosses and they are really good. Definately my favourite gloss formula.

Yes! Honestly, I was surprised by how strong it was because I dropped my glasses and the top frame didn’t move at all. The top frames are pretty lightweight which is nice because it doesn’t feel like you’re adding a lot of weight to your face. They are really fun but the sunglasses topper really made it for me because I can’t wear regular sunglasses when I wear my glasses so it really helps when I’m driving!

@ yes that’s exactly why I wanted these. I drove out of town to go shopping and was running in and out of stores and I was headed into one and I’m like “shoot I’m still wearing my glasses” I preceded in hooking them into the front of my shirt, thinking at that moment, “I’m probably gonna lose these”. I realized right as I was opening my car door to grab them, they weren’t there. I retraced my steps and didn’t find them. I let the store know and gave them my number and everything. These were also progressive lenses. Also it was right at my year mark when and to get a new pair I needed a new exam. Needless to say I still haven’t replaced them! lol

Oh that’s actually really interesting! Honestly, I did not expect to like these palettes as much as I do because I don’t remember their formula really being this good. I had a few palettes from them in the past, but I do feel like this is an updated formula that performs extremely well. After reading your comment, I could definitely see that being the case!

I really wanted the Milani cream bronzer (and the Saie) to smell like the Nars cream bronzer. The color is great in the Milani and the formula feels nice, but I love the light scent of the Nars. I like mild scents in cosmetics.

oof in my case the patrick ta palette also dried out a little because the shimmers are definitely not as impactful as they were when I first bought it… in regards to the makeup by mario blush, i’m surprised everyone says it doesn’t really last on them !! mine lasts all day. I’ve been theorizing it might be due to climate, since I live in a much more humid place, but it really is surprising !!

Usually I don't buy the high end bc my experience has been this: you have all the dupes, you finally save up and get that high end palette that $70 pallet for instance huda rose quartz lmao. And then you never use it because it's too pink and GLITTER all over your face for $70. Or a nice metallic wet look for 10. I'll take the metallic wet look for 10 every time now. The only high end eyeshadows I think are worth it so far are Natasha denona and maybe some of ABH. With the rose quartz I will say I got that for Christmas and I got it before I knew that I was warm spring and now I know why It just doesn't look right on me it's too mauve which can wash me out. 😮😢

I have such a hard time with the AF liquid matte shadows. Specifically, the darker colors. They are so sheer and can get patchy and disappear. Does anyone else have this issue or could recommend something that would help?
