Playing Pokemon Go at Devil's Tower

Today we go on an "adventure" to Devil's Tower and pick up some Pokemon along the way. It took us an hour and 45 minutes to make the 1.3 mile walk/hike around the tower; it's slow moving when we've got little ones and when we're looking for Pokemon! This adventure also meant that we got to mark off one of our Summer Family Goals.

The kids are so little here! Sophia and Solly were too cute. Asher and Eden made my mouth pucker just watching their faces when they ate a chokecherry lol. Such fun memories!

This game has really been bringing people together and it just makes my heart melt. We're Team Mystic (team blue) in our house. We have met so many wonderful people and made so many new friends since playing this. A local museum even has days where the Pokemon Go players gather together and catch Pokemon. It's a great way to not only get everyone outside and active, but a great way to learn teamwork (especially if you have a bunch of people using a few devices) and a great way to make new friends.

You should look into Geocaching. It is SO MUCH FUN!!!! It has been around for awhile. It is an app you get for free and go treasure hunting. You don't get a actual treasure but you find hidden caches and it is so fun for the children to find them. You use your location on your phone. We love it and it is a great family activity.

Did the tablets have mobile data capabilities or did y'all have a mobile hot spot? Perhaps that was what Tom put in Justus' pocket? Sorry for the ignorance, I am looking for a tablet that I could download Kindle books on without having wifi in my home. My internet is wired.

We use Tom's phone for a hot spot when we're all together, but last Christmas Tom got a mobile hot spot for the kids to use when he's not with us. It works great.

Ahh. OK. Thanks. I am trying to avoid wifi in my house, but really enjoy reading books on the Kindle on my phone. I am getting old enough that having a bigger screen would be helpful, but one cannot download books or games on a pad or Fire unless you have wifi. *sad face*

To Diana (living with d) I'm not spreading hate. Nor am I ignorant or stupid. I have read much information about Pokemon. She can do what she wants with the information. Andrea is a Christian so I thought I would simply pass the info along. I am not judging her and I didn't tell her she was a bad Christian for playing the game nor do I feel that way. If I was doing something that was not healthy and didn't know I would want another brother or sister in Christ to tell me. We all have our own walk with God. What may be bad for someone might not be bad for another. Christians are on the same side have we forgotten that? We need to be looking out for each other not tearing each other down. At the end of the day it is her and Toms choice if they choose to seek out information that was given to them. If not that doesn't make them bad Christians it's between them and God. But God layed it on my heart to tell Christians to be aware and seek out info on it if they choose.

I love how you actually have to walk to play and it's not another game that keeps kids indoors for hours. I read a comment on this section and I can't possibly wrap my head around the why they think this game is witchcraft. It sounds so ignorant and plain stupid. It amazes me how people draw lines that are clearly not there. It is simply a game where you look for Pokemon and catch them. People take innocent games and rack them up to be something they are not. How miserable is your life that you take a game that is actually helping kids get active (because lord knows we need it in today's age) and twist it so that it could potentially cause hate and fear. God teaches to spr ad love and respect NOT fear and ignorance! Sorry I just had to rant. I firmly believe in making this world a better place and it bothers me when someone tries to spread hate in th Lords name.

I actually hadn't even noticed that comment. The thing is that good and evil only exist in the heart of a person. Two people can be doing the same thing and one is right and one is wrong based on what their intentions are. One thing so many people overlook is that when Jesus walked the earth 2,000 years ago, the demons knew their time was short. They were about to be destroyed. When Jesus destroyed the entire Old Covenant system in 70 ad, the end came for those guys, too. Many people still worship Satan these days, but it's pretty pointless. He met his just end and so will anyone who wants to follow him. Even if the makers of some game are doing it to try to practice witchcraft, or to "trick" other people into it, it's completely irrelevant. It's like when Paul told the Corinthians they could eat meat sacrificed to idols. It was completely irrelevant to Christians what the pagans were doing. You can't accidentally worship Satan or practice witchcraft. I enjoyed your rant!

Not sure if you're aware but Pokemon is very much witch craft! Be careful playing that game. Its so unfortunate that these game makers make kids games out of witch craft. I'm more than Sure it's done on purpose. I guess that's how it is living in the end times.
