We are happy that Germany lifted the world cup. I also love Franc Buckenbuer the coach of the team, and equally I love Lothar Mettheus. Edgardo Mandez controlled the final match. His father was also a referee who also controlled a few FIFA matches. His father once said that if there is doubt not to give penalty, for one will have to explain afterwards about the penalty. Edgardo Mandez immediately took the retirement. He gave explanation of the penalty which was not convincing at all. Was that really a penalty that was awarded in the 85th minute of the game!!!

As usual: Wrong Descisions in your own Teams favour are always taken for granted (Refused Penalty for Foul on Augenthaler) while the wrong calls against you are a scandal and the only reason you lost. Granted, it wasnt a Penalty on Völler, but Argentina got their fair share of favourable calls in that final too.Argentina went into this final, aiming to destruct all Gameplay and to win the shootout. While the Game was very likely among the worst finals in WC History and certainly nothing to brag about, the Tournament found the rightful winner in the end. If anyone wants to complain, leave it to the italians, who had a marvellous side, who had only one flaw: They were incredibly wasteful with their opportunities and eventually paid for it. But then again: Find a worldcup without Argentinian Conspiracy Theory blaming their teams loss of everyone but themselfs

Poor guy sounds like he is being very defensive. He knows the sendoff (Klingsman's dive) and the penalty call were BS. Calderon was also fouled in the box and not awarded a penalty. Oh well...

Goycochea made a clear penalty in the first half. That penalty was not awarded for Germany. That game argentinians where just hiting the oponent because in contrast to 1986 Argentina in 1990 were not such a great team (in 1990 even lost against Cameroon...) Also in this World Cup Argentina gave narcotics to the Brazilian Openents (bidones de Branco) It was a disgrace... Argentina in the first place should not have been in the final of 1990

The best teams at this tournament both lost in the semifinals in penalty shootouts. A final between England and Italy would have been a much better game than this turned out to be. That game had fantastic players, but horrible characters. Maradona, Troglio, Klinsman, Voeller to name a few - all had questionable characters and their actions on the pitch reflected that throughout that whole tournament. This final had one of the worst referee performances in a world cup match, and I'm saying this as someone who is not a fan of either Argentina or Germany. All in all, I loved Brehme as a player - one of the best left backs in history, imo. Whoever saw him play, I think will agree on that.

Yes, England was the better side against Germany in the semifinal, but they were not better than Germany throughout the tournament. What Germany did in that tournament against Yugoslavia and Netherlands would NEVER have been done by England.

You could see Germany were mentally stronger from the final defeat 4 years before. England would have taken a Semi before the tournament. Maybe that was the only difference?
