How many days per year are dedicated to the training of ESA astronauts? Does it vary depending on the role of each astronaut?

Zé Pedro ***** check out this page on our website www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Human_Spaceflight/Astronauts/How_to_become_an_astronaut. This video is also interesting: kzbin.info/www/bejne/maDQZJ6Dm7mXqrc and this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXSXp4KnbJqmb7M - good luck!

Thank you for your links! I have already read and seen that :) (and much more). I also have read the biography of many astronauts and cosmonauts. Based on my research and interests, I made a plan to achieve my ultimate goal, being an astronaut. I set smaller objectives with deadlines, till the age of 34. However, I'm not sure I did it right. Is there any chance someone in ESA could review my plan and give his/her opinion about it? It's only one page, please.

Zé Pedro Remember to learn russian and scuba diving!
@slycoffy9 жыл бұрын
Ramix09 I plan to learn scuba diving, but I thought learning French should be more usefull than learning Russian, at least for European candidates (right now, I can speak portuguese and english).

Zé Pedro Ooh cool then! I think all astronauts learn russian as part of their training, being the soyuz the only lifeboat of the ISS nowadays, but now that I think about it, maybe in 10 or 20 years the dragon v2 will be there too, so no absolute need to know it

do you guys know they only take short astronauts? because the chambers in the ISS are as small as possible, and your oxygen consumption is higher, you should not be taller than 180cm to be an astronaut ^^
