Modric has reached in submerged team to a final in Russia World Cup and they got third place in Qatar World Cup and has a Ballon d'Or , 6 Europa champions and the best player in the world(the best). Modric is one of the top 3 midfielders in history

Could't care less. People act like modric carried croatia to the wc final in 2018, well lets back track then. He was excellent in the group stages vs Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland I will give him that. But then you go to the round of 16 where he literally missed a pen in the 118th min vs Schmical (Denmark), croatia luckly went through on pens. Then you go to the QF vs Russia, he got skinned by Denis Cherichav in the his openner goal and yet again got luckly through on pens. In the match vs England he was a passenger the whole game and goals from persic and mandzukic secured Croatia a place in the final. Oh and lets not forget how he got eaten alive by Pogba and Matuidi while Kante didn't even have a good game. So don't mess me with the BS of "oh look modric plays for an incompetent nation, the players around him are ass and some next excuse". Iniesta had an excellent collection of talent around him I am not denying that. But why do people take away the fact he had that extra bit of quality that propellef spain to many champion ship titles, while modric has not.

@@alaaahmad3648 Modric's wc team was good, and he didn't deserve wc best player or ballon d'or, Modric is definitely overall top 5 midfielder but in terms of prime or whole career he isn't better than players like Zidane, Xavi or Iniesta
