The fourteenth wrestling
When he has grabbed you and you are in a neutral position with your right arm on the outside of his left arm and your left arm under his right arm, pull your left arm from his right armpit. Press his left arm to yourself with your right arm and go with your left hand under his neck. Turn yourself from him to your left side. This is possible on both sides.

Does the manual specifically state that you kick up the leg for the throw?

Hi! No, that is only a personal variation or rather an extrapolation - I think the technique is related to a hip throw depicted in the Talhoffer and Kal manuals and that's just my idea of how to do an effective hip throw from that situation. The original text from the Lignitzer's manual along with a translation is in the video description so you can see for yourself what you make of it. Anyways the first technique shown in the video is my interpretation while trying to be as faithful to the text as possible.
