Starlink has a lot of cool ideas that could help out that basic Star Fox formula. But man... I stand on the grounds that expanding and improving Assault style ground combat, while balancing it with Arwing combat, is such an easy way to evolve this franchise. People often say Kid Icarus Uprising is sorta Star Fox done best... but it doesn't capture all the unique gameplay potential Star Fox as a series still has.

I agree with you, I would love to see a star fox game like this. Give them a cover system as and zoom in for shooting like uncharted, throw in side missions to help local town folk and to get information about enemy camps. Stealth missions to sneak into an enemy base to rescue a team member that has been captured and disable shields so that the rest of the team can fly in and destroy the base, while you have to escape. Then you can push the game into linear flight battles that go into a battle royal with 3d flying areas. When your traveling through space you can as answer distress calls that lead into more linear sections. So much cool stuff can be done with this franchise.

I've always wanted a Star Fox game that would give an expansive world and story. I have so many Questions about the planets like Zoness, Titan, Aquas, and the ancient architecture on Venom. I wonder if Andross's ancestors were connected with the Krazoa? Star Fox is one of those Nintendo IP's that arguably has the most untouched potential. I feel like aside from 2, Adventures, & Assault every game just takes the plot of the first 2 games. StarLink has the best dialogue between the Star Fox team & that's not even a Star Fox game. The interactions between them and Star Wolf rivals felt so personal, especially for Peppy. I think it would also be cool to include a ton of ship ruins like in StarLink so we can get more Star Fox theories like the Zelda community has after Botw/totk. I love StarLink but I worry Ubisoft would exploit gammers with unnecessary special edition with digital artbooks, stuff the owner wouldn't really own. Probably not as likely due to the state of Star Fox and Nintendo's collaborative history, but Ubisoft is hard to trust these days. Honestly, let Retro Studios make the "Star Fox Armada" pitch into a real game. For those of you who don't know of that game, look it up. It would've been so cool had it gone greenlit.

I would add a heavy emphisis on tech: guns (maybe a bit of a jak feel on foot), mods, Arwing upgrades and attatchments, other tech like teleportation devices, cloaking, tons of nifty tech from tiny to huge. And then a currency system, merchants and bazaars, trading, selling, buying, upgrading, chosing what to part with and what to build on. Maybe even purely cosmetic choices. Every playthrough would be different.

@kurokamina84293 ай бұрын
That's not gonna happen, starfox zero only played like "traditional" starfox because it was a reimagining of a traditional starfox game. StarFox to Nintendo is just a space shooter. Not strictly an on rail, flight sim, arcade style game with branching paths. Just look at StarFox 2, the moment they were able to do more they dropped the on rails. Not saying I don't want on rail gameplay.
@brendenkong642 ай бұрын
Yeah I respectfully disagree. Nintendo already did this twice on the 3DS and WiiU (64Hd & Zero). Contrary to common belief, there is definitely a market of new players to enter Star Fox just from the Smash Bros representation alone. I wanted Nintendo to make a port of Zero without the forced Gyro 2-screen gimmick but we're now going to the next Console, so I'm no longer open to another 64 reimagining. Star Fox needs a new approach in how players can explore Lylat along with a story that takes the franchise forward to separate it from the other games. The franchise needs a new game with an identity of it's own. Since 1,2,64 already exist on Switch, I would port/remaster Adventures/Assault as those are the last games chronologically and both differ drastically from their predecessors. With Star Fox, you don't need to play the games in a certain order to appreciate them anyway, so a new game would have just similar sales, if not better than a port/remaster.
@kurokamina84292 ай бұрын
@@brendenkong64 for me, a mix of SF64, SF Assault, and SF 2 is what I think is a good idea for the series. The base is SF 2 rouge like real time strategy. There would be all range sections like in SF 2 mixed in with on foot gameplay (the walker isn't different enough to the arwing to feel unique). There would also be on rail sections like in 64 with a boss. The game would have multiple maps that are like the SF 2 map. There's a primary location you need to defend like corneria and you have to take back planets or sectors from the enemy. That way there is more variety every time you play and it's not the same map over and over. If would also have random enemy placement like in 2. In between missions There would be moments where you get to hang in a hub area like the Great Fox or a corneria base. Here you can customize your team with different characters and ships. Maybe a states system, custom paint jobs, maybe turn your points into money that you can use to buy things B bombs, shields, life recovery items. This would also be the place where narrative dialog or cutscene happen. This could become come repetitive if Command is anything to go by but just as long as each map has something new then the game should be fine

Why do everyone who talks about StarFox they can build upon what Assault did. I'm so tired of open world being the go-to for games nowadays for discussion. StarFox have Open Areas for dog fights and then we have on rail sections they can add some on foot sections for infiltrating enemy bases. What IMO what StarFox would really benefit from is having missions and doing certain missions will unlock more levels for the player to explore and perhaps liberate them from the villain of the story (That isn't Andros in anyway) sorry if this is really all over the place I'm not the best on writing on the fly.

Also here's an idea, to add more content, you know how there is multiple paths in Star Fox in some levels, well improve on that, have their be multiple "levels" on the same planet. So the path you take isn't just oh I went to a different planet, then I was supposed to, have each planet have a basic or the normal route, and have 3 other levels per planet. Each level has 3 secret area's so each planet is actually divided up into 4 sectors of that planet. They could make it so each planet has a landmaster path, an Arwing path, a submarine path and an on foot path. Each with a totally different area on the planet and a different objective. The on foot part would be you have to infiltrate a base, steal something or blow up the facility and escape. The Arwing part would be traditional, the landmaster would be you helping soldiers on the battlefield who are fighting Andross's forces so it's more of a support based storyline, and the submarine version would be more about exploring under the ocean and it bein mysterious and dark, more of a harder difficulty mode. Of course with each path having it's own unique boss fight at the end.
@ItApproaches3 ай бұрын
Thy can also add more to the members of Team Star Fox. Say someone requests Falco's help so you play as him on that level. Or imagine a level where you play as all four members of the team and swap between them, you play as slippy to hack a system and take down enemies shields or to put up shields at a base, then it switches to Fox who can now land inside the base thanks to Slippy dropping the shields, and while Fox is inside looking for whatever, Falco is playable outside in his Arwing trying to keep enemies from entering the base to give Fox more time! As for Peppy, he would be maybe above the Great Fox observing and coordinating the teams efforts!

I think they should have just done what they did with the original game. Keep the linearity and push the graphics to the very limits of the system. Even slow-downs and somewhat low frame-rates would not bother me. I to this day love the original game in spite of it presenting very low frame-rates (even as low as 1 or 2 fps in a few specific graphically "heavy" areas). I think Zero failed a bit by doing the opposite and even rendering a secondary view on the gamepad's screen (both video images rendered at 60 fps), giving it even less graphical power. And great music and sound effects are of course very important too. More advanced control mechanisms not really needed either. Just make it simple and great at the same time... Not every game needs to be open-world and made for spacial exploration. The on-rails, often tense action is part of what makes the original SNES game so perfect to me. I also like that every level behaves the same every single time, and actually think that is a good form of memory training. Especially the easiest route in the original I can play on complete auto-pilot, and it is what makes it so enjoyable to play it through again and again and again... My re-play memory just plays it out for me, sometimes zoning out and thinking about other stuff, and I love every second of it. :) We do not agree about everything, but good video!

Part of the reason Star Fox doesn't feel "cutting edge" anymore is because Nintendo stopped making their hardware cutting edge. Yes, they can do things with the controllers, but after the Wii, everything has just felt gimmicky. Coincidentally, Star Fox Zero feels gimmicky as well. All those features they packed into the joycons only served to make them (and the Pro controller) much more expensive...no analog triggers, but thank god we got an IR camera & NFC! The gamepad controls weren't fun either, and because the Wii U was such a failure, Nintendo had little incentive to go all out in visuals or features for an end of life Star Fox game for the system. So hopefully the Switch 2 fixes a lot of that. A more powerful system, more useful control features, and a Star Fox entry earlier in the system's life, could all lead to Nintendo putting significant effort into a good Star Fox game for the first time in a long time.

I would prefer a Star Fox adventure 2 personally. The first one was absolutely fantatic ! Edit : if it's made by Ubisoft : I will not buy anyway. I'm sick and tired of Woke Ubisoft. Used to be great but not anymore... This company should go bankrupt and learn the lesson.

10:02 Ubisoft wasn’t my first pick - Retro Studios was mine - but yeah, Ubisoft and Nintendo had a long, strong history together. And they clearly have developers who like Star Fox. So it makes sense!

09:51 Oh please don't let Ubisoft be the ones working on the next Star Fox 🤢

If a new Starfox was made. It would have to be a sequel of Starfox Assault. Since Starfox Command is not canon @AndresRestart Starfox Zero was pretty much Starfox 2 Anything different then it will not sell
