Something that feels like an expansion of Assault's formula. My roommie and I are fans of the Star Fox series and we came up with something we call "Star Fox Forces". The game would explore multiple mercenary teams in the Lylat System each with it's own strengths and weaknesses. - Team Star Fox: A well-balanced team that makes use of experimental new technology. They generally have prime pick of contracts but the upgrades to their vehicles and weapons tend to be more expensive. - Team Star Wolf: An aggressive focused team with salvaged or pirated technology that tends to be a bit old. They generally have to take what contracts they can get but the upgrades to their vehicles and weapons tend to be cheap. - Team Star Rogue: The newbies, picking this team is hard mode, they are in debt so they have to use what they can get their paws on. Their technology is somewhere between Star Fox's and Star Wolf's, advanced but not top-of-the-line, cheap but still a bit pricey. They have debtors trying to collect and sometimes bounty hunters will intercept you while you're trying to do your missions to collect on your debt.

@orangeslash16676 ай бұрын
@@MediocreNed The reason for first person aiming is the free roaming sections. Argonaut Games and Miyamoto confirmed that Starfox was made to experiment what can be done with 3d. Zero experiments with that even further. Whenever your fighting a boss there much more open space to fly where ever you want. Thats why there are motion controls, to give you more options when aiming in the free roaming sections. The reason I say this is because 64 doesn't have free roaming sections. I'm not sure if 64 controls would work well in the free roaming levels?? One is that is for sure, is that without the two screens we wouldn't have co-op mode, where player uses the gamepad to aim and the other use the pro controller to control the arwing.
@MediocreNed6 ай бұрын
@@orangeslash1667 Ok, that explain why 1st person aiming exists but not why 3rd person aiming is inaccurate which is my point, it doesn't need to be. The 'compromise' of being to switch perspectives with a button press instead of looking at the tablet is still a bad thing since player don't wan't even be forced to go into 1st person at all when playing starfox. Every other starfox game 3rd person aiming works perfectly. Except for Zero, that's a major problem. People will prefer wiggle and spamming their aiming than go look in 1st person instead. Since being able not run into things is more important than hitting accurately when push comes to shove. The gyro controls are both faster and accurate than just analogue sticks only and allow you shoot at a thing while moving away from it as well. It is hands down the superior option. However those strengths don't matter if the aim reticle is off. All of this BS just to 'prove' that the wii u's 2nd screen isn't a gimmick. Not did star fox zero prove that the 2nd screen was useless it killed interest in the game as well.

I feel like one of the biggest issues with Starfox was the fact that at some point they just kept trying to reboot the franchise and wind it all the way back to the events of Starfox 64. Yes, I know Command was terrible, but that was more do to the attempt to shove a "player choices affect the ending" mechanic into a game that honestly wasn't designed around having one (seriously, all the 'endings' revolve around either 'do Fox and Krystal get back together?' or 'What happens with Falco and his entourage after the war?', with exactly two endings having any interesting events happen in them: The one where Dash Bowman, yet another nephew of Andross, restores Venom into the lush, green planet it was prior to Andross's experiments but then turns around and basically becomes the new Andross, and the ending where it shows the future generation of the Starfox team, with Fox/Krystal's son, Slippy/Amanda's son, Peppy's daughter (or was it his granddaughter?) and Falco playing the role as the 'veteran from the previous Starfox Team'. Yeah, imagine hearing Falco telling you to do a barrel roll.) That doesn't mean that the entire continuity from 64 to Assault should be scrapped as a result. I feel like a good way to revive the franchise would be one of the following: .) Make a game about that next generation of the Starfox Team. Perhaps it's time to pass on that torch if they're running out of ideas for the current crew. .) If they don't want to acknowledge Command due to how poorly the game did, then make something that takes place after Assault to replace Command in the chain of continuity. .) It's been established in both Adventures and Assault that there are planets with intelligent lifeforms on them beyond the Lylat System. Maybe expand on the Starfox Universe a bit with a game that takes the Starfox Team beyond the Lylat System. Maybe a neighboring star system or something.

If it were up to me, I'd go for number 2. Make Command non-canon and just make a direct sequel to Star Fox Assault taking place during the aftermath of the Aparoid War. Number 3 is also very good. Add online and increase the player count from 4 to 8 and I could see it doing pretty well for itself. As for a brand new game, I'd love to see them expand on the concept of Star Fox 2. Bring back the strategic element of the map screen, but make it so that when you invade a planet ot goes into a traditional on-rails mission. Defense or interception missions would be all-range. They coukd even add in some rogue-like elements by having each planet give you a rabdomized boon and make it so each pilot on the team only has a single life.

One way I see to leverage Star Fox specifically is VR. I'd rather they'd go back to the Star Fox timeline that actually went sequels, the one starting from star fox 64 to star fox adventures and so on and star making NEW stories instead of retellings of the first Star Fox game, albeit a remake of Star Fox Adventures with a slight retelling while keeping the general plot the same, involving more screentime for both Krystal and Scales and the former being more playable. another thing that needs to happen is that Star Fox Command gets remoulded into a more linear story with a true ending, while keeping the general plotline alive and also making Krystal, her temporary breakup with Fox and joining with Star Wolf more relatable and thus herself more likable. I was thinking that while still hurt, not as much as in command, and instead of wanting to actually hurt Fox, she joined Star Wolf simply to move on and because she felt like she has to move on, but ultimately decides to go back to Star Fox, thanks to Lucy, and after the final battle, fully reconciles with Fox. Ok, as a big Star Fox fan, let me throw my two cents on how to revive this franchise. Here’s what I would do for gameplay and stages with adding some rougelite elements, maybe have stages use different vehicles before each mission, or choose to go on foot. It allows stages to be revisited multiple times with stage secrets and hidden bosses, and may add narrative to the overall story. So let’s say you start a mission to fight Andross invading army, do you choose the Arwing and it would be on rails, or choose the land master, or choose to fight on foot in the streets of Corneria in 3rd person? Or choose the submarine and fight in the ocean on the same planet. Branching multiple paths within the same stage that can also unlock branching paths in the games main map. For 3rd person Fox or playing as other characters can have stages where they may need to solve puzzles, explore areas and maybe have missions where they have to save planets from Andross forces. I do think variety would be great, and having a fully fleshed out selection of vehicles or choosing to go on foot would open up the game a lot more, it can have on rails or be open exploration. Another thing I’d like to see is some very creative worlds and environments, they could really create some amazing environments with today’s modern tech and bring the franchise up to date. Look at how good Metroid Dread looks with a strong sci-fi aesthetic. Like the Star Fox team could investigate ancient alien ruins or something and it would be akin to a Zelda temple with puzzles and a boss, and adds to the overall story. Each Star Fox world can be densely packed with secrets, thrilling sequences, and epic boss encounters, with plenty of opportunity to revisit worlds multiple times to discover all the hidden stuff in stages or alternate bosses. Some stages would of course be strictly on rails like space dog fights and boss battles, another thing they could do to is building bases on stages you have, and I’d like to see something like the passive ghost players like in Mario Wonder. Other players can passively visit Star Fox stages you build bases on and maybe have some interactive element, and passive ghost players can help others discover secrets in stages, or passive players can drop occasional bombs or laser upgrades for the Arwing or other vehicles. Those are just some ideas I have how I would approach it, it would keep the core identity of what makes Star Fox what it is but also not be afraid to try taking on stages from different angles, and with games like Metroid, Zelda, Wonder, there’s definitely plenty of foundational groundwork for a Star Fox game to really wow people with a solid game, I feel there’s a lot of untapped potential.

I would take Star Fox into a much more niche route. Go all-in on the on-rails gameplay but mix it with both air combat as well as a on-rails cover shooter, a huge emphasis on character personality and story to boot. Give each level multiple routes and multiple endings for a plenty of variety similar to 64. I would change the art style to something more cartoony like the Battle Begins animated short film to enhance the quirkiness of the world and characters. The biggest feature I would add would be to change characters on the fly during missions with each character having unique abilities both active as well as passive. (Yes, you can finally save Fox while playing as Slippy.) The story would be about Fox and crew being the mercenaries that they’re always said to be, this time working for themselves instead of fighting on behalf of the government during wartime. As a sequel to 64 Star Fox will be traveling the Lylat system picking up odd jobs to protect the rebuilding Lylat citizens while fighting off a rising Pirate syndicate looking to carve their own territory from the ashes of war. And of course Star Wolf will be the secondary antagonists as usual, this time Wolf being a tough-love mentor in the world of mercenaries since this would be Fox’s first time being a Merc during peacetime and not following orders from the military. A foil to Fox’s “good soldier” attitude. Yeah I’ve had a lot of time to think about my dream sequel game since Nintendo won’t give one to us.

I do think that Starlink presented a new gameplay model for Starfox, and it did sell best on the Switch (and early in its lifespan). I think that the toys to life element of Starlink hampered its sales significantly, but that Nintendo may have seen the promise for that overall gameplay and world style. Given that Nintendo often doesn't revisit the same franchise multiple times in a generation, I think they probably consider Starlink to be the Starfox 'entry' on the Switch, and may be planning to having a refinement of the Starlink formula on the next console. Planets/moons you can freely navigate, with more traditional on-rails segments as you either move between planets, or during missions. Bandai Namco or Sega could be good options for developers, but I also wonder if directing the project may be something that would interest Sakurai. Obviously we all want him to be getting on with the next Smash Bros (as I'm sure Nintendo do too), but it could be a good project for him to do afterwards. Kid Icarus Uprising was (I think) well received as an on-rails action shooter, so Sakurai may well be a good fit to relaunch the franchise (if he doesn't get stuck making Smash DLC for the next decade).
@kurokamina84295 ай бұрын
We don't have a solid reasoning as to why StarFox hasn't gotten a switch entry, (considering that Miyamoto in an interview after zero released basically saying that the series is not done). It could be because Starlink is the starfox entry, it could be to let the series cool off after zero flopped, or because Miyamoto didn't find a new hardware gimmick on the switch to use for StarFox. An open world starfox while cool is VERY unlikely. Starlink is arguably the biggest game on the switch. Its one of those games where the cartridge doesn't have the full game, you have to download the rest of the game. Something that big will also be very expensive and would require the game to be a massive success which starfox unfortunately hasn't been in awhile. The two pairings just doesn't match up. But doing something like StarFox Assault and crank it up a notch in every way is more reasonable. It would be bigger then other entries but not too big to require Zelda numbers

I think the core problem is that it all comes back to Andross. How many times can he come back to wage war on the Lylatt system? They did try to bring in a new enemy in Star Fox Assault but they were dealt with before the ending credits rolled. As someone else pointed out, it has been established that there are planets outside of the Lylatt system and the mini-system that Andross always ends up hiding in. Perhaps we could have another new threat (hopefully better written this time) that comes out of nowhere and now the Star Fox team has to go exploring to figure out where this threat came from and how to defeat it. Medium-wise, a weird but potential angle to consider is tabletop roleplaying games. Yes I know but apparently SEGA thought the medium had enough merit that they dusted off their Phantasy Star franchise and subcontract the license for the whole IP to Skydawn Games. Maybe we could have something similar for Star Fox?

In terms of a cooperative multiplayer game with tons of players, the best way to go would be the way Helldivers 2 does it. Have the galaxy be at war and you and your friends run though various missions to defend and liberate planets. Instead of 99 players working together, you could have literally everyone working towards the same goal as an entire galaxy spanning fleet. Another game that could be used as inspiration is Mount and Blade, where a large part of the game would be managing the Star Fox Mercenary Group, doing missions, making alliances, and making a name for your company on the battlefield. Other factions would have thier claims and fight each other, letting for large scale battles and emergent gameplay. Throw in ship, crew and equipment management and some RPG elements and you might have something special.

There are currently three timelines in the series: Star Fox -> Star Fox 2 Star Fox 64 -> Adventure -> Assault -> Command Star Fox 0/Star Fox Guard Do they continue from the new SF0 timeline? Do they go back to the main timeline that started with 64 (in which case, what do they do about all the alternate endings for Command)? Do they do a *fourth* timeline and recap the original story all over again?

The official game she's going to be in, low key, started development either THAT. DAY. or not long before that. Again, the animation on that video looks WAY above Event Horizon's level of assets, but is also extremely short (40 seconds) and seems, relatively, simple. Maybe I'm off on that, but, if true, that would place an expected date for the next official Star Fox as probably 2026-2028.

Well first, StarFox, StarFox 64, and StarFox Zero all share the same spot in the timeline. They are just the same story told from a different angle. Nintendo never stated that Zero was a reboot but just a reimagining which are not the same. It's not the first time Nintendo did this as Metroid ZERO Mission is a reimagining of the first game but didn't reboot the series. So as far as we know the 64 timeline is still canon. Second, while StarFox 2 has finally got a release, I don't think nintendo acknowledges it in the timeline. It was just used to market the SNES Classic system. Third, StarFox Command isn't as big of a dead end as some people might think. They have spat out multiple ideas on what to do with Command when making a follow-up game. Either picking one of the ending or just starting in the middle with the team all together again. Both has their own pros. If they pick one of the endings that returns the status quo then they don't really have to acknowledge Command. If they choose to start in the middle then the game would be more of a reimagining of Command which isn't all that bad considering the problems stem from multiple ending and a very bad localization.

The funny thing is that ever entry has an element or twi that if put together into one game can make an amazing Star Fox game. But the best and coolest idea would be to take Star Fox Assaults ideas and expand it into an almost Ratchet and Clank like game. Difference being that they could take the StarFox Command and SF 2 idea of playing different characters into the game to add variety and letting players get to really know these characters gameplay wise and personality wise. Taking Star Fox Adventures style of handling the arwing gameplay by spreading them across the game but actually making them longer then they are in Adv, more uniqe, and actually have bosses. All range mode included. Ultimately make it a 15hr experience in the story mode. They could include a classic mode that takes the arwing/ vehicle gameplay sections and put them in a classic 64 style map. That way old fans can enjoy it. But most importantly, on line multiplayer (probably a battle royal style mode to differ from Splatoon and Metroid prime).

If you're to ask my how Star Fox should strike back to the public conscience, it has to be the import of the two GameCube games, Star Fox Adventures and Assault. Given what happened to Star Fox Zero, there's a big chance that a good amount of the fan base (myself included) are just getting sick and tired of Star Fox 64 being remade, even that was a reboot of the SNES title. Plus it be nice to see the next generation experience the two games that were released back in the day on modern day consoles. For what I want the next Star Fox game to be like, I would take heavy inspiration from the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 with it's on-foot combat gameplay while keeping Star Fox's Arwing and Landmaster gameplay styles like Star Fox Assault. Assault was the step in the right direction by evolving the series in both gameplay and it's story. Speaking of which, the story needs to be a continuation from Star Fox Assault as Command's narrative is so bad and from what I heard not even considered canon to the story's timeline. I'd like to have my girl Krystal back in the spotlight again as well as others like Panther and Tricky be brought back because there's potential in those characters to know more of. I do have a spin-off type game in mind one being a backstory type game on Krystal surviving Cerinia's downfall, a Halo Reach type game if you will, but a new game needs to be made first. For media, I'm not really sure if a movie can pull through 100%. Just look at the Mario Bros movie as it doesn't feel like a proper movie but rather a Illumination type movie (A youtuber Charriii5 did a rewrite to make the movie better, I recommend checking it out). However, I do think a television series can work really well, but what style should it take. Well, in my opinion, an anime should be the way to go given that Star Fox Zero got an animated short the Battle Begins and it looks so cool. The story like again needs to take place around the Adventure and Assault timeline because as I said, retelling SF64's story is going to get really old and limits the potential of the storytelling the series has to offer. For theme park rights, I actually did came up with two ideas in mind. One being a laser tag type attraction which features Star Fox Assault's weapons and gameplay style. Another being a roller coaster type simulation where you fly around with the Star Fox crew in space.

I think their best bet would be to deliver the best looking game they've ever made, with classic Star Fox on-rails missions. Essentially a new version of SF64 structure-wise, but with new gameplay ideas. Maybe new power-ups, vehicles or (god forbid) even crafting. Some new mechanic that adds an additional addictive quality. It won't sell gangbusters but also wouldn't require a massive budget. Another option would be Star Fox Lylat. Make it vaguely like Mass Effect 2 in structure, with a good story driving the experience. Explore the whole Lylat system, taking on missions, meeting characters, finding new gear. Space, tank, and on-foot gameplay, sort of like Adventures if you could fly anywhere in your ship and there were a bunch of flying missions. All culminating in a final push against Andross or some new threat.

Somber but not hopeless. The primary thing I'm genuinely holding on to is the fact that Star Fox has a good name and is a low hanging fruit. At some point it will likely be acknowledged again. Should the franchise resurface in a big way, I'm hopeful that some retro style on-rails side project is in the cards. ;) I'm a bit disappointed you did not talk about Star Fox Assault at all I believe. There is this niche of making it a vehicle swapping third person shooter. Less open world than what you described when you talked about BotW, but still far removed from the on-rails roots that seem to be unviable nowadays. Maybe more classic Halo? Halo is known for Multiplayer shooting, something Nintendo has covered with Splatoon. But what Splatoon imho lacks is an outstanding story mode. Star Fox could fill that niche of a third person story shooter, with cinematic wow effect. I did not like Assault, but that was more the execution than the concept.

Rant Time: I never played the main game of Star Fox Zero. I played the robot game that came with it, because that was more my vibe. Like this guy, I was never really into Star Fox as a game series. I played them since the SNES days, but mostly out of obligation because that's what the family wanted to play - to ooh and ahh at. I've beaten Star Fox and Star Fox 64, mostly because it was a rite of passage in the fam. I really got into Star Fox 64's multiplayer. I got into Star Fox Adventures and had fun with it (despite everyone's hate of it - I was oblivious to the hate at the time). Didn't get that into Assault, because, again, not really into Star Fox formula. Like the speaker, I was into Panzer Dragoon. I was also into on-rail shooters like Time Crisis and Ghost Squad. But Star Fox's gameplay, for whatever reason, never really stuck with me. Now that THAT'S out of the way: I don't know how to feel about Star Fox Zero. Or rather, people's opinions about Star Fox Zero. All of them claiming to be huge fans of the series say they absolutely DESPISED the controls, and that it utterly ruined the game. I took their word for it... until... years later, I realized there was such an utter bias against the Wii U that most people try to gaslight those that enjoyed it with horrid stories and call them blind liars. An easy example is a majority of players claiming that Splatoon 2 and 3's controls were far better than the Splatoon 1... when that's genuinely the furthest thing from the truth and I seriously can't understand why people think that. Wii U's motion controls were FAR more precise than joycons', at least in terms of shooter-genres. Also, people claiming that Smash 4's Amiibo never actually learned anything. Also extremely false, as the intelligence of Wii U Smash Amiibos was seriously more superior to Smash Ultimate's Amiibo. Sm4sh learned how to fight against you, Smash Ult poorly attempted to copy you. Their intelligences were night and day. Most of these stories and claims, not coincidentally, coincided with famous KZbinrs that hated the Wii U... which made me realize that: Either these people have never played the Wii U, or their opinions were formed by more charismatic influencers. The latter is not a horrid knock against their character: people do that all the time - on EVERY medium. It's a natural response. But the fact that these haters believe they're immune to this behavior, though, and treat their "opinions" as law? THAT, I can knock against. Point is, with the skewed bias against the Wii U, as well as the likely bias of the Star Fox players (most OG Star Fox fans hadn't properly played it since the N64 - most of them ran away from Adventures, and most of them also avoided Assault because they preferred home consoles over handhelds --- meaning, they were likely older players who weren't fans of adapting to new controls), I'm not sure what to believe. Were the controls TRULY that horrid? I'm an adaptive player, as I've played from the NES-forward, adjusting my hands and eye coordination to fit whatever control scheme was put in front of me. Nintendo, SEGA, Sony, Microsoft, arcade controls - you name it, I've likely adjusted to it. I'm fine with tank controls, over-complicated controls, and even over-simplified controls. I had no issues with odd camera angles, dual screens, VRs, or augmented realities. I found Kid Icarus Uprising's controls to be a little awkward at first, but adapted very quick to them. So... for someone like me, would the controls have been THAT bad? I don't know.I didn't play Star Fox ZERO's main game. I'm not that into Star Fox, so I felt no urge to. I bought it for the sake of family (in case anyone wanted to play it, they were bigger Star Fox fans than me), and because I wanted to play that base-defense game (for some reason I keep forgetting its name). I sold my copy when I was strapped for cash, and have only marginally regretted it... but now I genuinely regret it. ... Those cutscenes look gorgeous and fun. And it really goes to show the amount of effort they put into the game. Was it TRULY that bad? TRULY? Is there anyone here who has LEGITIMATELY completed the game from start to finish and did any side-completionist tasks (aka: not just speedrunning to say they completed it), that seriously hates its controls? Were people's claims exaggerated? Or were they legitimate? I'd genuinely like to know. And no, I don't want to hear it on Twitter or Reddit, or through a video essay, as those crowds have been biased from the start. I wanna' hear from someone who's actually played it, who actually enjoyed their Wii U, who's actually well-adaptive to new controls: Was it genuinely that bad? Oh, and I also played Starlink. Very fun game, even though the end-game didn't feel exciting and just felt more like crisis-management. All that said... To remark on the video's question... I think Star Fox going down a Mass-Effect-lite route would legit be amazing and get a lot of people into the series. Gathering party members, customizing teams and loadouts and skills, choices that affect the story, drama and tension... But on a much much lighter scale. Not because "family friendly", but because there's an ever-growing crowd of people who want to play shorter, less involving games. They don't want 100+ hour adventures, and would actually be happy to complete a game over the weekend. A Mass-Effect-lite would be a blessing to these people. One that they'd replay over and over again without fear of losing their lives and hours of sleep to it.

They could have the maps (planet) update weekly as the Star Force is deployed across the galaxy. Battles with 3 other pilots (just like the original games). You could mix in ground deployments with tanks/mechs or have missions set in person. You could customize your character and ships, make it a battle pass of sorts. It'd be Nintendo's Hell Divers. Star Fox needs to proritize its storytelling. There's so much untapped potential made with its world, anime shorts, and fan projects like A Fox in Space. They also need to rework the gameplay. I believe a mix of open air environments with an empasis on exploration combined with linear segments for boss fights and storytelling is the way to go. So basically Assault cranked up to 11. This franchise would have been so much bigger by now if it wasn't so mishandled and squandered by Miyamoto.

It really isn't hard. What do you do when you can't think of new idea? Look at old ideas that were cancelled or just not done very well. Want a shorter game to test the waters? Remake Star Fox 2. They can even set it in the Zero timeline if they want. People would be _thrilled_ to see it. Want a longer, 20-30 hour game? Make a story-driven game like Assault, but pepper in alternate paths and endings like Command had, but make them _not_ the stupidest things in the entire world. Reintroduce different playable characters like Star Fox 2 and Command. Maybe tie that into how the paths split off. Bring back Faye, Miyu, and Krystal. There are so many old ideas that Nintendo has just abandoned, and they could make the best Star Fox game ever by just bringing them back.

I think Zero is the best Star Fox game, I got used to the controls and cranked out some high scores. Over 5,000 hits. And the attention to detail was very good. That proves to me they still know how to make good Star Fox games. But I understand they’ll have to make Star Fox games more accessible. Most people aren’t hardcore Star Fox fans and don’t understand the gameplay. A Zelda fan will knock your block off if you mischaracterize the gameplay in a Zelda game. But a Star Fox fan usually defaults to any negative criticism as true, but that mostly because Star Fox fans don’t understand the gameplay. There are many terrible Star fox players. And that speaks to a communication failure by Nintendo. They need to be able to quickly train people how the game loop works in a Star Fox game. They shouldn’t just let you experiment while hunting medals. There should be a little hand holding for a complex action game. Just give the players the tools to become creative with their own play style. A lot of people don’t understand basic mechanics like Cancel locking. An important feature, and a reoccurring feature, that is never explained in game. I find it bizarre they hide so many mechanics from the player. Knowing what you’re doing really makes or breaks the game.

In my opinion, Releasing Star Fox alone may be risky. It needs proper team to remake the games. There is semi-similar theme Nintendo game called Sin and Punishment series. If team can create Sin and Punishment, it will help advancing for Star Fox because most people likes to play fast addicting and fun and new elements for story as well. Sometimes old fan gets tired with same story so it would be better if they find other games to develop along with like Sin and Punishment or X (series).

If Nintendo partners up with a film studio, such as Universal or Sony, to make a movie adaptation, this is who I think Miyamoto's personal choices for the cast would be. Johnny Galecki as Fox Anthony Mackie as Falco Josh Gad as Slippy Kurt Russell as Peppy Stephen Fry as General Pepper Benedict Cumberbatch as Andross

You only chose Anthony Mackie as Falco because he was already Falcon.

Step 1: Make it a new game and not a remake of Star Fox Step 2: Use the cancelled Armada as a template Step 3: Implement actual competent online and social features and use it as a spearhead for the upgraded online service Step 4: Create a tightly designed competitive team dogfighting system with official esports support Step 5: Never come out

IMO Star Fox Should just steal Ace Combat's Gameplay for the next game. Ace Combat Proved that model works since the late 90s. They have a good releationship with Namco Bandai and they have Project Aces Team that could make or at least Shepard the gameplay side. IMO Star Fox should at be considered to play like Ace Combat and then still have the classic more trench run auto scrolling mode that could be a high speed attack run mode.

Honestly, I think that Star Fox's only way of becoming viable in the present is either regulating the series to being a budget title or an almost complete revamp. Either small $20-40 dollar games that get released every 3-ish years or a live service game that has a multiplayer component similar to how Helldivers 2 does online multiplayer. The single player gets story updates every few months while the multiplayer has a squad of 4 in various kinds of missions, like dogfights, on-rails missions with the various kinds of vehicles seen in the series, maybe some on foot missions like the Helldivers missions, etc. Heck, the monthly story campaign updates could stem from how well the multiplayer missions go, with the core StarFox team being sent out to hit the final nail in the coffin if the multiplayer missions go well or helping multiplayer avatars abandon a base in a region that's been lost if the multiplayer missions don't go well. It'd be a huge commitment, though, something I can't see Nintendo maintaining. But Nintendo just letting the IP rot just feels lazy considering how little they've actually done to try to "push the series forward."

I like the channel called ice cream man, on KZbin has made a lot of Starfox videos, called StarFox Horizons. For me I found StarFox Command the dullest StarFox game, I hate the strategy element for the game, protect the Great Fox from getting blown up and that was most of the game. I like strategy for Fire Emblem games as it makes more sense for me.

(Copy and paste of a comment I made on a different video and the correction I later put out. It talks about some true cringe that was made by Event Horizon’s creator) Here’s some truly HILARIOUS information about UndyingNephalim/IceCreamMan (Star Fox Event Horizon’s creator). However many years back he made these two RPG Maker Zelda fan games. They had their rough edges an amateurish writing, but had a lot of passion behind them. For a long time I was wondering why the guy disowned it. Then once I watched a let’s play of the second game Time’s Menagerie I knew. There was a lot of really sus stuff with horny underage characters, he crammed his cringe Deviantart-tier weggie fetish into it, he made nude loli drawings of his waifu Saria (they didn’t have “details”, but it was still disturbing. This one character who’s like an incel/simp for Saria brought her back to life and told her that he’s basically her father. She also didn’t have any memories so mentally and physically she was a child), and at one point you come across this poor Zora woman who had been kidnapped by an octopus man and used to breed an army of Octoroc-Zora hybrids (she had been missed for a few decades and since there was an entire civilization of them in a cave you know she had to endure CONSTANT assault. The octopus man’s brother and husband of his victim met up with him and told the guy that everything is ok and that he can be redeemed. This is right after learning his brother rap d his wife). He also made this comic called The Gerudo Wars around the same time and the fan wiki has an “interesting” summary. In one paragraph it talks about the Kokiri who are “an immortal race of eternal children”, and right below in the description of one of the panels is says that Saria (one of said immortal forever children) is heavily pregnant. Insert my boy PPP screaming WOAH BUDDY!!! What makes it worse is the guy didn’t even age her up and she looked YOUNG. One of the key hallmarks of bad writing where the author has an oc or an already existing character act as their self insert was present, with Link being responsive for her child pregnancy😂🤣🤮. Fortunately, the guy was like 15 when he made this and has since moved on from that “phase”. It shouldn’t be used to slander him as a pdf file because I don’t think he’s one (or at least I hope he’s not. It’s clear the guy still really likes his loli waifu. He also aged her up a bit for his rts and shipped this ambiguously aged girl with a much older man. When confronted about this his response was that Hyrule is a backwards medieval society and that kind of thing happened then. In other livestreams the guy will go on and on about how much better medieval society was and how we should go back to the good old days. On one of these streams he and one of the guys who helps him with the Zelda fanfic lore were going on and on about the symbolic beauty of inbreeding🤣🤮 (think back to what I mentioned about what one of the characters said about Saria being like his daughter). I was just dying laughing! I wish I could remember what stream it was and had the timestamp I’d HAPPILY share it😂). Although, ruthlessly mocking the guy for the various dumb things he’s said and done in the past and sharing the magic is fair game.
@shreksnow19186 ай бұрын
A few corrections. I recently reread the wiki and Saria wasn’t actually impregnated by Link. What really happened was she ate some herbs that caused a pregnancy and one of the other Kokiri murdered Link because he thought that Link was a forest demon who forcibly impregnated Saria. You can definitely see how I got that twisted, and the thing about Link being UndyingNephalim/IceCreamMan’s self insert still stands. Also, once I was laughing at his inbreeding idea in the comments and he corrected me by saying it was actually meant to represent decay/stagnation. He also had the plan to make two of his oc villains be siblings who got it on at the beginning of time and now hate each other (one of them is this Bionicle looking guy who’s actually an owl man and created the Ooccaa in his canon. The other was genderbent bootleg Sauron and she merged with this spider hive mind making her basically immortal)🤣🤮. I kept laughing at him for that beyond atrocious idea that he sadly never went through with and gave a cope answer that it’s fine because lots of Pagan myths have inbreeding and he needs to tie it in with real world symbolism/mythology, even though a good chunk of those ideas don’t make a lot of sense within the narrative. I doubt the guy would go after kids, but he clearly doesn’t understand optics and it would be VERY easy to twist his words and make him look like a sicko. Fairly recently he did a stream and at one point he used Genshin Impact to dunk on BOTW/TOTK by saying it’s the better game. Even if it is better you really DON’T want to praise that game because a good chunk of k if the player base are creepy and there’s some YOUNG looking loli characters (the game’s wiki categorized them as short girls. Building on that one of them has lowest eyes that are used to represent neonatal features of girls who are maybe 3 feet tall, and if you like that you’re a shortaphile😂). I agree that BOTW is flawed (can’t speak on the sequel since I haven’t played it), but if he wanted to bring up a game that’s did a lot of the same things better he could’ve mentioned something truly great like Cube World’s Alpha version (it has INSANE exploration thanks to leveling up, procedurally generated dungeons, a wide array of different enemies, hang gliders, climbings, pets that help you in battle and some can be ridden, and other things like that. Such a shame the retail game threw away so much of what made the earlier build truly great). Unless the guy pulls a Vaush and shows off a goon stash with kiddy content or has Discord kittens there’s no evidence that he’s into kids (maybe aside from Saria). The guy is very talented and I’m thankful he’s been working on those cool projects, but he has done certain things that definitely would’ve turned him into to a lolcow. His INSANE skillset and the fact he doesn’t meltdown when criticized or made fun of (at least he’s smart enough to do all that behind closed doors. CodemanCZ basically confirmed that my mix of legitimate criticism and laughing hysterically at his cringy past caused Neph to hide my comments and was malding about me in his private Discord/hugbox). There is part of me that wants to see someone confront him about his past and make him meltdown mid stream, but the guy doesn’t deserve that and it could potentially kill Event Horizon. I don’t have any malice towards the guy and wish him success. Something else interesting about about the guy is that he’s taken the hard stance that introducing sci-fi elements into Zelda is a bad thing. As long as it’s a gradual introduction and they don’t go too far I think it’s fine. I’m going to play armchair psychologist and assume it’s a subconscious effort to distance himself from his older work. In Time’s Menagerie it was revealed that the Twilight Realm was actually the moon, the Fairies of Tarm were changed to these weird 4D entities who were masters of genetic engineering, along with Majora and the Goddesses being implied to be aliens. There was also this cool weird part in his Total War Zelda mod where the Bionicle looking guy used Skyloft to nuke a city like Independence Day to try to kill genderbent bootleg Sauron and her hoard of Gomha. There’s probably other examples I can’t think of off the top of my head.
@shreksnow19186 ай бұрын
Not making ANY of this up about the guy’s previous projects. You can check the Hyrule Conquest fan wiki for the Gerudo Wars comic and see the child pregnancy part is 100% real. There’s also play throughs of Time’s Menagerie if you want to see the story get VERY fanfictiony with the DISTURBING Saria nude loli drawings and poor Zora woman who’s the victim of sexual assault to create an army of Zora-Octoroc hybrids.

4:39 Miyamoto, you mean the guy responsible for every bad decision ever made for this series? The last thing this series needs is Miyamoto.
@NuiYabuko6 ай бұрын
And how would you know that?
@kurokamina84296 ай бұрын
@@NuiYabuko because he IS the champion of Star Fox. This is long, sorry. 1. Canceled SF 2 which would have been a great game for the time, it would be a sequel, and would loosen this expectation for starfox. 2. 64 being a reimagining of the first game: if it had been written to at least be a sequel then there wouldn't be this "It's the same game" reputation the series has. 3. Adventures: before DP, he suggested to make the follow up to be an adventure style game which isn't what fans wanted. Then he dragged rare and their new IP and made a mess of the community. 4. Creative Vision: it doesn't have a consistent vision because Miyamoto keeps passing the IP around to different 3rd party studios with their own interpretation of the series. If he had each game made either in house or have a designated 3rd party things would be clear and progression would have happened like all the other IPs. 5. Gimmick First: do you know why Zero forced the gamepad on the player? Or why 99% of everything you do in command requires the use of the DS touch screen? Or maybe why we didn't get an entry on the Wii? It because of I like call "The Gimmick First" approach. Instead of gameplay first or story first, you make a game around the features of the hardware. Without the a good Gimmick then there is no new game and that's why there was no Wii entry. Miyamoto in an interview stated that he was exploring gameplay ideas but nothing game which is weird considering that the Wii would be perfect for on rail shooters. He found Zeros Gimmick through expiramenting with a remote control plane with a camera attached."wow, this is really cool, this could be great for a new starfox game" then he made a starfox game without thinking. Even it resembling 64 was because he felt like it would work with his gimmick. SNES Starfox and SF 2 demo the FX chip. 64 demoed the graphics of the system, its ability to allow voice acting, the analog stick, and the iconic rumble pack. Adventures is an exception but showed the graphical power of the GC. Star Fox Assault was apart of the Tri Force system to demo the ability to interact with a system version of a game and an arcade game. Though the arcade never saw the light of day. DS touch controls. 3Ds gyro controls, and the wii u. He does this because he feels like he made the best version of starfox on the n64 so he feels like he has to go in other directions to continue the series. Even though he didn't touch everything the series can be. Fans for years have came up with a bunch of gameplay ideas, even putting them into fan games and roms. It's worse when they brush up against new ideas that would have been have innovated starfox. Zero used amiibos to use different versions of the arwing which plays different from the base arwing. If explored they could have every character have their own ship that plays differently and could add a level of strategy. It's insane that he brushes up against these gameplay ideas and just doesn't stop and consider to look into it further. Nope gimmick first. For sources go to R/StatFox reddit and search for interviews. It spells it out.

The problem with Star Fox is that nintendo doesn't really care about it as a set of characters with strong stories. The Star Fox IP is literally only for tech demos of new hardware. Only Star Fox 64 is any good, and that's probably more luck than plan, considering the track record of the series.

Gotta disagree. While I agree that Miyamoto sees starfox as a testing grounds for hardware gimmicks (the thing that's actually holding this series back). However after starfox zero he expressed that he wants to put more energy into StarFox as well as pikmin. We got our pikmin, starfox could be next. Also hard to say when nintendo literally makes all the wrong choices. If nintendo made these same decisions for mario, I would have thought the series is done for too.

Honestly, you can't really have Star Fox stand on graphical power when like you said Nintendo has other series to do that these days like Zelda and Xenoblade. It also has other problems as mentioned in the video where Nintendo shot themselves in the foot, making the games either too different from one another so remaking them is out of the question, or there already remakes of 64 again. I think you are overrating Miyamoto's say, he's got a lot on his plate nowadays with helping with movies and is clearly more into Pikmin than he is his bygone Luke Foxwalker. I doubt any of the new staff care about Star Fox to help make one in-house since most of their hires are Japanese and Star Fox has never been rated super high in their eyes. I'd love a Star Fox TV show or Movie and while Sci-Fi series in film aren't super common, I don't think it would work out for Star Fox since most people don't know what that is and will most likely think it looks like Star Wars. I think saying someday Nintendo will do something with Star Fox might as well be saying if they remember it exists outside of being roster padding for Nintendo-related images nowadays. Lastly, no comparing the wait times for a new Star Fox to the wait times for a brand new 2d Mario game and the like is not fair since Mario will not only always be on Nintendo's mind, but has it's own dev team and always does well will always have a higher chance of getting a new game then something like Star Fox, double so since half the time Nintendo makes a new Star Fox game it's Star Fox 1 with new bells and whistles (64 is still good tho). Still, to end off this comment, the video is overall well made and I thank you for keeping things mostly real in the video with the low %s.
