Thanks Andy! It’s always nice to see what people are using. I have a couple of chucks also and keep different size jaws on them. Makes it so much easier than changing out the jaws . Cheers,Rick

You might consider buying a T-handle Allen wrench for the jaw screws. It’s a lot easier on the hands! 😊 Looks like a nice chuck

That's a very nice chuck Andy and far cheaper than the Axminster equivalent. I couldn't believe the price of of those jaws, WOW. I have to admit I'm very happy with my SC2. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw

Thank you for showing your new chuck body and jaws. Great deal too, and it is always great to have more than one chuck to limit change over and keep you turning. Great to hear from you. Take care, Rob. 😊

These are good chucks for the money, i too have the same one bought from yandles, the price is good and the jaws are not too expensive, i bought my new Laguna lathe from yandles and had a great experience with them, and they are local to me. Thanks Andy.
@malbun32757 ай бұрын
Hi Andy Always nice to add more items to the lathe to expand one’s ability to cope with different situations. I fell in years ago to thinking I need that special tool that a professional turner demonstrated on how to do a specific part of his turning.finally woke up to the fact it’s not only the tool but you need to learn how to use it properly to get the end result!! Now after nearly 30 years of turning my bowl turning uses 1x spindle gouge 1x bowl gouge 1x round end scraper the other twenty or so tools wait patiently to be used on boxes or other items like maybe an Andy Gonk ! Thanks for sharing and nice to know you have a dry day for a change Regards

Completely agree with your assessment of this chuck. I have a couple of the companion chucks and have found that it is more cost effective and actually faster to switch out chucks than to change jaws even on the quick-change jaw systems. Have been completely satisfied with my Record chucks. One of the reasons I chose the Record was because it follows the standard of tightening clockwise and loosening counter-clockwise.

Hi Mark... Yes... I too dislike changing jaw sets and though I never imagined having 5 chucks , I have.. I assumed that all lathes were threaded this way ... Take care my friend and all the best from Andy

Hi Andy! Even though the jaws are special engineered, I like your step of the aligning the loose jaws in the closed position. In your next video that you use the chuck/jaws please mention the chuck and why.
@OregonOldTimerWOODTURNING7 ай бұрын
The instructions advise mounting the jaws that way.

Just received an SC4 yesterday. Easy way to insert that leather bit is to press it into the hole from inside the chuck body before screwing in the insert.😁
@AndysCornishCreations7 ай бұрын
Hi Oregon..... I hope that you enjoy using your new chuck... Haha... yes.. I wasn't really thinking, I used that method on the insert..senior moment 😂 Take care my friend and all the best from Andy

I use RP chucks as well, the SC3 though because that one doesn't require an adapter. My only complaint is that you do not get an additional set of screws when you order separate jaws. With RP, if you lose a screw, you are screwed. 😎
@AndysCornishCreations7 ай бұрын
Hi Leo... Yes.. I have a SC3 chuck too... I'm not sure why the SC4 doesn't have a m33x3.5 thread 🤔 The SC2 does as well... I agree, a set of screws would be a welcome addition.. Record Power supply a SC3 and SC4 fastening kit with jaw screws, grub screw and allen keys.. So not totally screwed... haha... Take care my friend and all the best from Andy
