@@Mateoarredondo no way? I mean, he’s the top dog in collegiate wrestling, and he’s even BETTER, and a lot better really in freestyle. The point I was trying to make was how impressive it was, not saying he’s just average at folk or something.

@@xzjayz7925Beau being at Penn State I imagine he'll walk Alirez down in the season. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for Alirez to win it at 141 last season, but as I am a Penn State guy I really think Beau can beat him. He just has to stop coming out of matches slow and has to push Alirez around because this looked bad for him.

International scoring for leg laces is just stupid. A takedown and roll 4 times - match over.
@l.rongardner2150 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. It makes a mockery of wrestling. Folk-style wrestling is more entertaining than freestyle.
@joeyriojas2996 Жыл бұрын
Folkstyle = Art Freestyle = Art If you’re a fan of wrestling, you learn to love it all. Folk has downfalls, Free has downfalls, Greco has downfalls. Still a fan of it all. Learn to stop a folk turn that can tech you, learn to stop a free turn that can tech you. Learn to stop a Greco turn/lift that can tech you.
@broheme8922 Жыл бұрын
@@joeyriojas2996 I like freestyle and folkstyle. In fact I much prefer the way freestyle forces action (point for OB, no 2+ minute ride-outs, etc.). But appreciating the different styles and blindly accepting all of the scoring rules are two very different things. And "learn to stop" is the standard argument from anyone who doesn't want to rationally debate. Suppose a takedown is awarded 10 pts? Or a pushout? No problem. "Learn to stop them." It's a question of whether or not the scoring versus difficulty makes sense. I argue ending a match for one hold and rolling doesn't make sense.
