They always come back to the "stolen generation". When my mother was in hospital recovering from a massive stroke, the woman opposite her was an aboriginal. Like myself, her husband came in every day to visit, and over the period of five months, I got to know them quite well. The husband was also aboriginal, and during the course of a conversation one day, he told me how he gets pissed off by people who are whiter than his skin colour, going on and on about the stolen generation. He told me that he and his wife were part of that, and if they hadn't been removed from their surroundings, they would NEVER have had the quality of life that they have both enjoyed. He also noted that people forget that young white girls who found themselves pregnant and not married, often had their babies stolen from them to give to couples who were looking to adopt. It is nice to know that not all aboriginal people carry on like ratbags, but it seems that the whiter they are, the worse they carry on with their supposedly racist bullshit.

Most of the supposedly 'stolen generation were in fact given up by their parents to the missions because they recognised that they would have a much better chance of a better life than if they remained with the tribe. Only around 12% were actually forcibly removed from the parents. The whole 'stolen generation' thing is a deliberately constructed and promoted lie for the purposes of directing huge sums of money to certain 'aboriginal' people in cities. Very very little of it ever reaches aboriginal communities.
@mantiskf2003 Жыл бұрын
sure there are exceptions in every type of scenario; but what was the more common situation and treatment? True regarding young pregnant white women, but there has been restitution to many of them; more importantly, it was the same cause for the ill treatment against both groups, and sadly so many of all colours still follow this debunked nonsense.

One night there was a hell of a racket outside, shouting, swearing, cracks and bangs. I looked out the window to see a couple of dozen people beating the shit out of each other, smashing cars, and throwing rocks, a brick bounced off the front of my house. I was later told that this happens about once a month when a group from a different tribe enters the street. So much for living in harmony. Without word of a lie, within a few months, they had ripped out all the floors, doors windows, smashed every wall, stolen the air cons and hot water services, ripped up every plant that was landscaped, and took off. It is about distorting the truth as a money making business, benefitting the managers of the aboriginal industry who have been milking the taxpayer to line their own pockets. The result is we have two aboriginal groups, the victims and the predators who exploit the real aborigines. The predators are the greedy psychopaths masquerading as aborigines. Their business model relies on their truth telling exaggerations and outright lies, and the continuation of the aborigines they use to profit from the misery they insure never ends. Aboriginals never had tattoos unlike the NZ maori. By the way, dot paintings were invented by a white fella in the early 1970's who collaborated with local people to bring them into existence. I quote a first nations art website: "Dot painting originated almost 50 years ago in 1971. Geoffrey Bardon was assigned as an art teacher for the children of the Aboriginal people in Papunya, near Alice Springs". Also, before white settlement there were 250 aboriginal languages and over 800 dialects - doesn't sound like a united, peaceful existence. How could you tell friend from foe with no means of standard communication. Perhaps LT should take a closer look at her own history.

Very interesting observation about the recent "creation" of aboriginal art "tradition". The ubiquitous "welcome to country" ceremonies, created by Ernie Dingo in 1976, are also a crass " creation" of aboriginal culture. He "made up" a ceremony because an official South Pacific delegation, for whom welcome ceremonies are part of the culture of South Pacific islanders, demanded one for their arrival. Since then " Welcome to Country" has become a grinding tool, the purpose of which piling on white man's "guilt".

@Reginaldesq Жыл бұрын
Living as hunter gatherers the dirt isnt worthless its very valuable as it supplies your food. When your land is taken, so is your food. Homo sapiens have been around for about 200,000 years. Most of the technological advancements came about in the last 11,000 years. If it was a matter of being smarter or better then why not much happening for so long? Some people of the earth were in the right place at the right time, some were not. Comparing technologies from different geological locations is pointless. With that said. The hunter gather age is well and truly over because it simply fails to compete with farming/industrial culture. At some point one has to say, we lost the war, time to participate in the modern economy.

Yeah. Every single one of us had Hunter Gather ancestors. The fact that we are here means they all made the change to farming/industry. Maybe they did it willingly, maybe they were forced. If you are on good land the hunter gatherer lifestyle can be pretty sweet. But, it cant compete with farming/industry. So, if you want to be alive, you have to make the change.

@Jim-zd6mn I really dont like the "other guy would have been worse" argument. Its like you get robbed for you wallet on a subway and the robber says youre lucky, the other thugs around here would have taken your clothes as well.

This continent could have been found by a race determined to wipe out all indigenous life.

If I recall correctly the Gippsland Aborigines killed 100 Western Port Aborigines in a surprise attack at Beaumaris, according to assistant protector of Aborigines Thomas.

My inheritance came from my parents who came to this country from a war torn place. Experienced racism, but worked 7 days a week in a fruit shop.
