***** there are two organizations here in the US that offer actuarial exams, the SOA (Society of Actuaries) and CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society). Both offer tests and the first 3 are mutually recognized so one or the other gets you credit with both organizations

This guy is cluesless. I was doing the Masters in Financial Maths at that university which is far to academic based and maybe 15% real world (small section on financial markets / risk management) - rest is BS. I asked him about CFA (was also looking at maybe CAIA instead if going to hedge fund side) and he never had a clue. He is so far removed from Goldmansachs,JP Morgan, and all the hedge funds in London. PS - annuities are crap - cost too much for what you get paid back. Better keep your money invested in a good index and drawn dawn small % at retirement. This guy is so clueless.

@@chengxunshu5967 I agree. Course is too theoretical - MSc financial mathematics. Split between Heriot watt and Edinburgh. Guys are clueless. You will be lucky if one has real world experience. Most are foreign lecturers with no real world experience at a hedge fund, investment bank etc. But what would you expect, that is why they are paid peanuts as a lecturer.

Their MSc is just a cash cow for the university. Also look how clueless this guy is. 'international bank'. They are bulge bracket investment banks. Guy is clueless
