The Capitals have waived Bear and Sgarbossa, leaving the roster with 27 healthy skaters, with several players still competing for full-time roles at the NHL level.

They could do what Seattle did with Shane Wright. Play him in the 9 games, sit him as a healthy scratch for 5 straight. They can then send him to Hershey on a 5? game conditioning stint just before the World Juniors assuming he gets selected. Then send him down to Kelowna for the rest of the season.

Just the preseason still but will be interesting how Lindgren does in the last preseason game. Thompson looking solid 2-0 Lindgren looking iffy 0-1 will be interesting who gets the starting position for opening night.
