Andrew Johnson Presidential Home - Visiting the House and Gravesite - Greeneville, Tennessee

This week’s adventure continues my series from the Smoky Mountain Region with a visit to another President’s home. I journey to the Town of Greeneville, Tennessee to visit the home of Andrew Johnson 17th President of the United States. I get to tour 4 different buildings of which the President Johnson resided in at different points of his life. I finish it with a visit to his grave site to pay my respects. Ha, never occurred to me what he did prior to being president. Nice touch adding that information. I agree with T that it must have been lucrative, I’m guessing that it predated assembly lines and made for something a little more fitted and personal. The house was really nice, always curious to see how presidents lived.

Had no idea he was a tailor. Must’ve been a lucrative job judging by the size of the house he was born in and the giant house he lived in later. He has been on about every list I’ve seen for “worst Presidents” so it is nice there is still a place out there honoring what he did accomplish and his life in general. 😂 gotta have your opium nearby!

Yeah politically, he wasn't one of the greatest presidents ever. But still, it is nice that they have memorialized everything. Always make sure you have your laudanum at hand, you never know! 😁
