🎥 IN THIS EPISODE → We traveled to the historic town of Greeneville Tennessee the home of our 17th president of the United States Andrew Johnson. Greeneville is packed with so much history and things to do. The General Morgan Inn sits right in the center of downtown and the Capitol theatre does also. Greeneville is known as the town where United States President Andrew Johnson began his political career when elected from his trade as a tailor. He and his family lived there for most of his adult years. What is Greeneville Tn famous for? Nestled at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, Greeneville's rich heritage as the home of the 17th U.S. President features the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site and National Cemetery. Is Greeneville TN a good place to live? Living in Greeneville offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. Many young professionals live in Greeneville and residents tend to be conservative. The public schools in Greeneville are highly rated.Did you enjoy this video? I lived in Greenville when I was a kid. When I was in 3rd grade. I lived right next to the cemetery. The view that you were showing from the cemetery is Viking mountain. You should definitely go up there on a Clear warm day. The views are awesome I did live on Viking mountain road in 2nd grade. It takes you to the top of the mountain just before the North Carolina border off the Asheville highway. The Appalachian trail is Right there too. But there are awesome views from the top of that mountain. There is another side road that goes down Green Mountain that also has good views. The wife and I went there over the summer. You guys should have did the guided tour it was very interesting and the Greenville museum is also super interesting.

When we were there we went to the old jail it's the oldest jail in Tennessee. Pretty cool it's right by the police station not too far from the cabin. Also there's the old state capital when they made their own state of Lincoln. That history is super interesting. A bunch of rugged mountain men start in their own State. The dam on the Asheville highway is pretty cool to stop at too and drive down. Thanks again for the video awesome job. I've watched it like 3 times lol.

What an amazing history this beautiful old town holds. I was reading about Edith O'keefe who lived in the oldest home there in Greeneville, TN. She lived a life filled with passion for writing and owned the town newspaper for years and years. I know that each life God forms has a beautiful story to share if we will listen. I love history and as you walked along the streets and stepped up onto the old porches of homes it seemed things came to life once again. The train whistle was calling to us to return to when life was of a simple way of living and just please stop and breath in the life that is still there. Thank you for all you do for your viewers. Go in peace and the Love of God.

you'll have to come back and see how Depot St looks now it is completed. Too bad you didn't get to tour the inside of the homestead. It was low doorways for sure. I've been up here for 24 years now and when I first visited there the Tour guide told me that they used the creek to keep things cold back then and they didn't have fridges like we do. But it is definitely worth seeing if you ever come back again. Nice view from the balcony of the general Morgan inn Although I've never personally gone up there I've seen various shots and videos from there at different times of the days or seasons and it always makes for interesting background.

I grew up a few yrs. in Greeneville we used to hike all over and always up to the cemetery. looks like the town has exploded. I don't Rember a visitors center it was back in 1968 threw 1974 when I was there. yep a cannon ball stuck in the wall I was wondering if it would still be there . looks like they have tried to add a lot of tourist stuff. I see they added another fence around the grave site.one of the shots you showed from the grave site looking at a neighboring hill was where I lived and there wasn't as much housing around ,we would hike through the woods to the graveyard. thanks for showing it.

Andrew Johnson was a carpenter as well as a tailor. The historic Tipton- Haynes house in Johnson City has some furniture he made. John Hunt Morgan was a Confederate raider who was killed in Greeneville. His Nephew was Thomas Hunt Morgan, who was awarded the Nobel prize. His research established the genetic fallacies of eugenics theory, which undermined the racial theories of the Nazi's.

Viking mtn aka meth mtn...cops are as corrupt as they get...best way to deal with locals is "bigger the smile - sharper the knife" i lived there since i was 4 and im 42 now hence my pov. thankfully i got out b4 they killed me not for lack of trying tho...so yeah visit n see the sights but never stay long theres not really that much to see and it can all be done in 1 day at longest 1 weekend after that get outta there to somewhere better which is anywhere else. =)
