I LOVE his screenplay for Red, White, Black and Blue. It's a fantastic ode to 70's cop shows about a trio of mismatched detectives who tear up L.A. trying to bust a Mr. Big Smack Dealer on July 4 1976. It is one of my favorite screenplays. I long for the day it ever gets made. I also thought his original draft of 8mm was SO MUCH BETTER than the movie they made. Too bad.

I've never understood his dislike towards 8mm. From what I've heard from people who've read the original script, the only major change was that their was supposed to be a lot more underage pornography and that was cut out. 🤷
