Luck won't return. If he returned next year he'd be 32. He'd be on the tale end of his career. Without consistent practice and being out of the game, combined with his injuries and his age, I don't think he'd be an elite level QB anymore. Even then, the colts aren't taking him back more than likely (Unless Carson bombed), so chances are, he'd end up somewhere else, possibly with a bad O-line, and the cycle continues. Sometimes people forget the life of these players. They spend their entire day dedicated to the sport, come home, sleep, repeat, for years. They only get 1-2 months of a break each year. Hardly ever get days off. Your life is football. For 10+ years that was his life. After a certain point, its not about the money anymore. He's already made 100m+, he's set for life. There is no motivation there to return. When you're getting torn apart for years, playing through injuries, sacrificing so much, while your partner sits there and watches you suffer, its allot. Plus he has a daughter now. Yeah, luck could've been one of the greatest QB's to ever play football, made the HOF, got some superbowls etc,, but he lost that opportunity, and I don't think making 100Mil and retiring at 30 is a bad second by any means. Everyone will know the that he was a legend in the making. That's all he needs.
