Equitation science promotes an objective, evidence-based understanding of how horses learn, and how to train them accordingly. It promotes the welfare of horses during horse training and competition by applying valid, quantitative evidence-based methods.

Completely agree. You start out with a small but clear aid. If they don’t listen you slowly increase. And over time your initial aid becomes smaller and smaller and the horse becomes softer and softer. It’s not about moving away from pressure, but into release.
