Also, the Mughal empire was founded by Central Asian people in modern day Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. That being said, the truth is, both empires had a lasting impact on modern day India, with the British impact being significantly more recent and with a greater impact on Indian resources, people and modern day conflicts. Schluz has no idea what colonization does to a country The British colonization of India, lasting nearly 200 years (1757-1947), had a devastating impact on India's economy and social structure, making the country poorer in several ways: 1. Economic Exploitation Deindustrialization: The British policies led to the destruction of India's traditional industries, particularly textiles. Indian weavers and artisans lost their livelihoods as British-made goods flooded the market. Drain of Wealth: India’s resources, raw materials (like cotton, jute, and tea), and wealth were exported to Britain without fair compensation. Dadabhai Naoroji estimated this process as the "Drain of Wealth." High Taxation: Heavy land revenue taxes were imposed on Indian farmers under systems like the Permanent Settlement, forcing many into debt and poverty. 2. Agricultural Decline The British focused on cash crops (such as indigo, opium, and cotton) for export, neglecting food production. This led to frequent famines, such as the Bengal Famine of 1770 and the Great Famine of 1876-78, in which millions died. Irrigation and agricultural infrastructure were poorly developed to serve the needs of Indian farmers. 3. Disruption of Trade Before British rule, India was a major exporter of textiles and other goods. Under the British, India became a supplier of raw materials and a market for British goods, which disrupted its balance of trade and caused economic decline. 4. Neglect of Education and Infrastructure While some infrastructure (like railways and telegraphs) was developed, it primarily served British economic and military interests. Education was not prioritized for the masses, and the focus was on creating a small group of English-speaking bureaucrats. 5. Social and Political Impact Traditional social structures were disrupted, and local rulers lost their autonomy. Caste divisions were often reinforced to serve colonial administrative interests. The Indian economy became overly dependent on Britain, stifling innovation and self-sufficiency. Outcome By the time the British left in 1947, India’s economy had been reduced to subsistence agriculture, with high poverty rates, low literacy, poor health care, and little industrial infrastructure. India's share in the world economy declined from 23% in 1700 to around 4% in 1947.

As an Indian, I'm happy that he finally grew a pair and stood up to Schulz's overt racism, but I wish he had the brains and compassion to extend the same courtesy to other groups of people and realize how Schulz was using him to justify racist rhetoric. Spineless is what I want to say, but really that's the baseline for such people anyways.

It is just (insanely) expected for him to defend his own people so vigorously while telling Black people to not be so mad about jokes. It's also funny to see Black people stand-up for his people just after they joined-in attacking Black women. *Edit:* I also find it quite interesting that you posted this simultaneously as the podcast is being centered for its anti-Blackness, neglecting to post anything about that anti-Blackness. It's just so funny to me how the World continues to reinforce the same bigotry that they claim to oppose, even in situations like this. This is supposed to be a video about how Andrew and his podcast have racially offended and characterized Indians; yet we're in the midst of the *Blacklash'* from his anti-Blackness and the Black people who went-on his show to support it, and you can only speak about how he is disrespected Indians. This is what we mean when we posit that anti-Blackness is rampant. You all can't even acknowledge when we've been disrespected, and you make it a point to acknowledge every time that everyone else is. That is clearly showing the World that we're not supposed to worry about Black issues. The same is clear when the Asian community gets reparations without even asking for them during COVID while black people have to beg for *"studies"* about the possibility of getting them throughout the decades.

Akash is missing the huge point of Caste System that exists in India due to which there was no such thing as “India”. And it still exists. Coming of Britishers did bring a semblance of equality here. Akash knows nothing about india and its history or is deliberately ignoring it. Neither did schulz make that point. Both are idiots from my point of view as an Indian living in India. Akash behaved like a true Upper caste person crying about his wealth being taken away, completely ignoring the fact that his people didn’t even ALLOW 85% of the population to HAVE wealth before Britishers came along, and even after it was hard. Britishers were just another colonisers after the Brahmins.

British and French colonialism differed significantly from empires like the Roman Empire, the Russian Empire, or the Caliphates. Under British and French colonial rule, colonized peoples were not considered citizens with rights. Instead, they were subjects with limited or no political representation. Resources and wealth from the colonies were exploited for the benefit of the colonizing country, and competition with businesses from the colonial power was systematically suppressed to maintain dominance. In contrast, empires like Rome often granted forced citizenship to conquered peoples, meaning they were legally considered citizens, albeit unwillingly. While life under such empires was challenging, local businesses were generally allowed to operate independently, though they were subject to high taxes and other obligations. Andrew problem is that he can't differentiate between both. When the European migrated to the new world, they didn't go there to co-exist with native tribes. That different expanding your influence and bring more people into your realm. A big reason in my opinion is the invention destructive weapons that can kill thousands faster than ever before. And the history of deadly European conflict and competition which many of the European state didn't have the time or the luxury to operate like the romans and build the influence in these countries thus only focusing on extracting every penny from the colonies and than use the poor people of colonies as soldiers in war.
