I think the difference is it was them "black men" making the joke , while Andrew is a white man making the joke , it seems like they are co signing the jokes which seems racist to the black women since they are the butt of the joke

So youre fine with black men joking about how undesirable black women are, but not white men? I dont even subscribe to this stuff but If anything, its 10x worse when black men joke about it because those are people from your own community saying "hurtful" stuff. Their comments hit home and reinforce societal truths since they are much closer.

Exactly. Serious question because even though I’m in the UK - I don’t know this other Duo. Is that really why people are wanting to cancel them? I must have missed something. Making generalisations about places you’ve only visited a small area of is never a good idea but if you’re asked “have you seen any baddies” and you answer no or very few. What’s the problem with that. We all know beauty is subjective - although a majority of people can agree certain aspects of beauty - them having that opinion seems fine to me. So everyone was fine with it this whole time until the Flagrant thing blew up coz obviously the Flagrant clips go far and wide 😂 all they had to do was double down and keep it pushing. Coz whether you agree or disagree with their jokes we all have the right to make jokes and so if they land they land and if they miss you hold the L and try again. So I always find it funny when people retroactively get mad. Coz I'm not condoning their jokes or agreeing with them but lawd have mercy the internet gotta learn to be mad when something happens rather than jumping on things for the sake of it. It's insane to me that people are justifying this based on the context. The black girlfriend effect is a positive connotation, as James was explaining. Schultz essentially countered with "black women could never improve a mans life, in fact the improvement is actually a disguised defense mechanism". The going bald part of the joke is one thing. The insinuated violence of black women, and thus defeminization of black women, as if we want to be in a boxing match with you??? Extremely problematic and toxic.

I'm actually surprised that they're ONLY apologizing to Black Women, Most of what was said in the first 30m+ was Racist Stereotyping of various groups of the African Diaspora. In the same episode two months ago: Shultz is Jewish, we all know nothing can be said in general about him or his culture.

I don’t think anything is wrong with jokes on stereotypes, culture, sex, race, etc. The joke just has to be good, or it’ll come off negatively to most. In this case the joke wasn’t funny so it landed bad.

You can't know if a joke is bad without telling it. People simply dont understand comedy and want a special pass to not be the butt of a joke. Black women routinely make jokes about white men.

Unfortunately Andrew isn't one to handle being told his jokes are low hanging fruit one could easily hear in a frat house. they get really butt heart over in that podcast when anyone says they're jokes aren't funny. and start throwing around a lot off buzz words like triggered, soft, cancel culture , edgy etc. never once does it occur to him that some times the simplest answer is the truth. It wasn't funny.

I've been thinking about the fact that americans overall are professional excusers and complainers, every single fucking thing needs 30+ minutes of ranting and complaining, its like having a job or be occupied is illegal in america. If the same thing would be brought up here in Brasil( which is impossible because we dont have the same racial dynamics) at most the black women would say its kinda mean to say that, but it would end very quickly

I think the thing that bothers black women is being constant punching bags, but to a point where it becomes dehumanizing. The Big Momma/Rasputia/Madea jokes are so tired. Especially when it's from someone we SUPPORT. No one cares for Andrew because his main audience is not black women. The other 2, it's a different story. Saying something is "tame," when you're not at the receiving end is too easy. Sometime, shit is just not funny. Its not about "being a snowflake," it's just not funny.
