I understand sinking hours into a game is detrimental if the only way to monetize is to break into the .01% of the player base and become “elite.” What I don’t agree with is that it’s the only way to make money. You can create content, learn social media marketing, you can sell coaching sessions for lower Elo players, you can make tutorials or guides. There is actually a lot you can do within gaming or streaming outside of “going pro.” I think a lot of people just don’t see the other ways to make a niche revenue stream In gaming.

I am a gamer myself from a very young age and through the years I have seen how I really wasted my valuable time on literally nothing than practicing my hobby. That's why Big Daddy Tate is right, because unless you get payed for it (Which I won't recommend it though to make your game as your career) it would be life wasting for you as an individual.
