Andrew Wiggins’ First Signature Shoes! PEAK AW 1 Switch

In this video we go over an amazing performer - the PEAK AW 1: First Signature Shoes of Andrew Wiggins.
Peak basketball shoes have continued to evolve over time and this time the cushioning setup along with the set of drop-in midsoles feel awesome on feet. Soft, good responsiveness, and a very smooth and low ride. Traction is excellent, very squeaky with a strong grip on the floor. The fit can be very tricky as always with the brand, and it’s important that you go down a full size from your true size. (For example, 10.5 US in Nike shoes = 9.5 US with Peak.) Stability and support are decent, the upper materials are breathable but just might not wrap around your feet in a very secure way. However you can always adjust by tightening up the laces so that’s not really an issue.

I just got these on discount and I agree, one of the best performers you can get! Traction, cushioning, lockdown are all awesome. I have used it only once so far, but I'm already loving it. Haven't used the p-motive drop in yet, but it feels like it is lower to the ground than the pop up one. I'm thinking about getting the regular AW 1 coz of my pleasant experience in these. Btw yeah midfoot is a little tight but it's tolerable.

I love the Lou Williams tai chi shoes. They're very wide foot friendly. I'm guessing these will as well, it's just a shame the two drop-in midsoles seem to be very similar to one another.

Peak, like Li-Ning and other Chinese brands, are immensely slept on. If you like trying those other types of brands, highly recommend Brandblack (they're some really cool shoes, and have more of a Euro influence, and the one who oversees them created the first Grant Hill FILAs!)z Question with the AW1, I saw you say go down a full size, but do you know sizing wise how these may compare to the Peak Flash 1.0s (Undergrounds,) Peak Lightning 2019, etc.? And with your sizing, is that off the preference of your toes being closer to the toe box, or more of a thumbnail width? Sorry, haha I'm a big/flat footer here, and am a size 13, and mostly have stuck with TTS with overseas models, but thought I'd get your thoughts since Peak is a bit tougher to come by. Also, did you get these on Peak Sport Shop? I don't believe I've seen you link where you buy the shoes from, but wasn't sure if that was intended or not. Keep on killing it!

Thank you! They fit the same as the Lou Williams Lightning, so if you had a pair of those you can go with the same size (I wear a 9.5 in both while my true size is 10.5 with Nike). For a reference, I have slightly wider feet and very flat feet and don’t prefer the toe box being too snug. Bought these directly from China, their official webstore there which is why I don’t really have a link for overseas unfortunately. I did end up paying almost the price of the shoes themselves for international shipping, so on some sites the mark up isn’t completely unreasonable to be fair.

I know some Chinese reseller sites and have ordered from a couple from them and have had pretty good experiences overall! Other than that, definitely preciate you reviewing this, I don't know Chinese anymore like I used to, and watching Enzo's videos without English subtitles haha. Also, think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the Liren 3s, if so I'll let you know how they are!

There’s not much to say about them though. 1. Sizing: EUR 44.5 in Nike = 44 in Peak Taichi Slides 2. Good for outdoor wear, very durable 3. Downside: texture can get sticky with some cotton socks 😃

Thank you! I don’t have the Underground to compare but they fit the same as other Lou Williams shoes like the Lightning that I have. So likely the same size as most other Peak shoes should work 😃

True to size shouldn’t be doable even if you have wide feet. I’d say a size 43 then? If you normally wear 44 in most other sneakers.

I wear a 11 in the Kyrie Infinity, and 9.5 in these. So I’d suggest going down to size 8. The Kyrie Infinity fits snug and small to me.

Hey, yeah either size 9 or 9.5. I wear a size 10 in Harden Vol. 6, and 9.5 in these. Harden’s I went down a half size. If size 10 is your true size in Nike sneakers too then go with a size 9 in the AW 1.
